Michaels has plenty of supplies for almost everything you could want to do, craft-wise. Everything is reasonably priced, though not especially cheap. However, yarn selection veers strickly towards baby-pastels and there is no fabric selection at all.
I've used Mo X several times to get to both Kansas City and St Louis. The service is very friendly and helpful, and I've yet to arrive later that estimated. However, if you leave from Parkade, you need to arrive several minutes early because they will leave you.
Quick Trip is fabulous. Wall of slushies, every kind of snack food ever, and standard-priced gas. While it's out of the way, if it's late and you're really in the mood for a cherry-coke slushie and a taquito, there's no better place.
Maude's is flat-out awesome. I have found so many awesome, unique pieces there, always super cheap. They recently expanded, and have both a street and below-street location, meaning even bigger selection.
Very nice selection of truely vintage items, not simply the 'used' selection other consignment stores have. The furniture they have is all nice, selected for style and condition. A little pricier than other vintage places, but quite nice.
Uprise is a locally owned bakery downtown. They have all sorts of delicious stuff, for both breakfast and lunch. They also supply the MU cafes, and their cheese croissants are SO good.
Hillcreek has a huge selection of natural fiber yarns, along with supplies to spin your own. They also have a nice selection of books, and the ladies who work there are very friendly and nice. Only con is that the yarn is a little expensive, but it's quite nice and worth it.
Douglas is always crowded with (often unsupervised) neighborhood children. Changing facilities are often rather dirty, and there's often trash lying around. However, admission is dirt cheap, and the pool itself is clean, so everything evens out.
With a mini-cafe, wireless internet, a large children's section, and a large collection of periodicals and other factual materials, CPL has something for everybody. There are meeting rooms and places to sit and read, as well. A great family place.
Went through 6 years of various work through Ramlow's office, never had a complaint. The technicians are totally friendly, and remember all their patients. The doctors will do whatever is necessary to fix your teeth.
