Sweet Williams On Bay
This shop is so cute, every time that I go in there I end up buying something. I love how cute everything is. Katie carries such a wide selection of products but they some how all work together. I would not recommend bringing small children here nor is there room for strollers. She has an espresso machine so if you are just stopping by on your way to walk the beach you can pick up a latte, or something warm. If it is your first time going make sure that you have time to look at everything, it will take a while. If I can make a suggestion, If husbands go it should be to pick up a gift, not to accompany their wives, as they may be in there for a while.
Sahara Pizza Holding Company
This is the only place that delivers to us out here in the sticks. The pizza is ok I guess, I find it over priced. They know what they are doing with their pricing structure because since they are the only people who deliver they can charge a mint, and not serve a great product. Also if you want something quick this is not the place to go
Great Harvest Bread Company
Everytime that you go here they give you a free piece of fresh bread. If that is not enough to get you appetite, the smell of fresh baked bread will. With so many choices it will be hard, but normally I just go for the whole wheat. Every once in a while I will get a more gourmet loaf for dipping, also a good idea. Whatever you end up with in the end you will not be disappointed with.
Beths Cafe
open 24 hours is such a great concept, especially for this place. Who doesn't want a 4 am omlette after a long night of drinking. I love Beth's. It is a secret from some and some keep it a secret because the more people you let know the longer the wait between the 2am and 5 am hours.
La Palmera
They serve very flavorful mexican food. When you are seated and you get the menu you will have a hard time deciding but because they are fairly busy you should have ample time to decide. The combo plates are always good, very filling though, you will probably take home left overs. This restaurant tends to be fairly busy, so don't be surprised when you arrive.
Judy Fus Snappy Dragon
If you like Chinese food then you should like to eat here. They are family oriented and have something for everyone. My favorites are the moo sho pork and the hot and sour soup. Both are excellent. If you dine here you can either eat family style or just chose your own entree. I enjoy family style because you get to try different entrees and everyone shares
Brindles Meats and Seafood
What a fun shop, it has just a little bit of everything.
They have a seafood market, an art gallery and my favorite a wine shop. All of the people who work there are so knowledgable and are able to recommend a wine that best suites your taste.
Bistro San Martin
This is the most cute, quaint, little restaurant in downtown Arlington. It has been open for just one year, and already reservations are reccomended, (even on week nights!). The food is outstanding, the service excellent, and the over all experience was very memorable. There are two owners of Bistro San Martin, and you can find them both working in the restaurant every night. Steve works in the front of the house. He is very friendly and makes you feel welcome spending time chatting and visiting with us and every other table in the place. The Chef Martin is also a owner. Every meal that he serves is personalized and you can tell that thought and pride was put into it. Between these two they make sure that every guest is wanting to come back for more. I had an excellent dining experience and am already making reservations for another trip to Bistro San Martin.
Big Scoop Sundae
This place looks like an oldfashioned Ice Cream Parlor. Red and White lights surround the restuarant. Also the red and white decor really makes you feel as if you are in an old fashioned restaurant. There milk shakes are to die for, and they also serve a mean cup of coffee. There lunches are reasonably priced and there service is quick and friendly. You are taken care of in a prompt matter and the food is good too. I didn't have a chance to find out, but I would guess that this restaurant was one of the originals in Mt. Vernon. It is a very family friendly restaurant in both service and price. It is also a nice place just to drop by for a milkshake or Ice cream on a hot summers day
Tokyo House Restaurant
I ate here for the first time about 6 months ago, and ever since I have been back at least once a week. They have something for everyone from teriyaki to tempura, miso soup to sushi. I am a die hard sushi fan and every since I moved from Seattle to up north I have not been able to find good sushi. Well Tokyo House is the place. Everything is made with the freshest ingredients. If you like you can sit at the sushi bar and watch them form the art, I mean your meal, right in front of you. The staff are very friendly and the service wonderful. They have orders to go, or eat-in, also they have daily specials. I reccomend this resaturant for anyone up north who is looking for fresh excellent sushi, as well as many other wonderful meals.
