I had been taking my children to this office since they were born. The Doctors and Nurse Practitioners are wonderful with the kids. But, if you happen to need a sick visit - FORGET IT. First of all, the "phone system" will often tell you at 10 am to call during business hours when it already is business hours. If you are lucky enough to get the scheduler on the phone, she is MEAN! She seems completely aggravated to take care of anyone ~ she is worse in person. And, never leave your phone number for a nurse to call you back to see if you should bring your child in ~ by the time they call back, you could be dead. Or, they wont call at all.
The last three times I called because my daughter had an ear infection and needed amoxicillan they were too booked and I had to go sit at the emergency room and shell out $50. What is the point of having insurance and a Primary Care Physician if you end up in the emergency room instead of the DR's office?
I have changed Dr's offices and now ask myself why I went through the hassle for as long as I did.
I always take my kids to Haircrafters. I like that you do not need an appointment. We never have to wait long to have their hair done. The hairdresses are all very nice and they do a terrific job with the kids' hair ~ even though they can be a bit fidgity. The prices are fairly low and the cuts are great. Sometimes they publish coupons in the paper to help you save even more. I think they are changing their name soon, but I am sure they will still offer the same great service!
PROS: Usually no wait
I signed my son up for 4 weeks of lessons during a promotion they were offering. I was a little apprehensive at first because he had never skated before. I had nothing to worry about. The people who work there are very helpful and made learning to skate fun! My son went on to play hockey after the lessons, and they really prepared him for the game. The rink has a real hometown feel to it ~ lots of fun. We really liked warming up in front of the fire with a cup of hot chocolate!
I hadnt been roller skating in years. A friend suggested we get our toddlers out and go skating ~ I am so glad we did. Evans looks pretty much the same now as it did 20 years ago. From the carpeted mushrooms that you sit on to change your skates to the skate rental booth. The floor is nice and smooth and the D.J. plays the tunes that make you want to "shake yo tailfeather!" We recently had a Birthday Party at Evans and you just cant beat the price ~ we had a blast. If I had to change one thing, it would be to update the bathrooms!!!
CONS: Carpeting is OLD, Bathroom is OLD!
I used to dread looking for a new vehicle. Since Discovering Rick Weaver, the task has become much more appealing. Joe, our salesman has made buying a car as fun as it is supposed to be. Rick Weaver has a great selection of cars and is a wonderful place to buy a car. Their sales people are very helpful without being pushy.
My son received a play guitar for Christmas and broke a string within the first 5 minutes. I took the Guitar to World of Music and they treated my son with such care. In no time we were on our way home with a new guitar string and a new appreciation for World of Music. They treated our little $2 problem just as they would have if we had been spending $200. I appreciate that. When my little musician works his way up to needing a real instrument, I know where we will be going.
The Erie Zoo is a wonderful attraction for the City. Parking has been improved greatly in recent years. There are many animals to visit and fun to be had. The renovation of the Childrens Zoo has added to the attraction. The train is still traveling over the raging waters of the Mighty Mill Creek and the tunnel has been repainted in a glow in the dark motiff. ZooBoo is my favorite time of year. The kids look forward to participating in that all year long. I love the zoo. If it wasnt 28 degrees out today, we might have to stop by!
If ever my husband is missing, I know where to find him. He has found a second home at Kinems. They offer a great selection of Sports Memoriabilia at fair prices. My husband loves to stop and chat with the guys that work there and view the newest treasures. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone with an interest in sports!
PROS: Sports Cards Galore
CONS: Can't Control Out Spending!
Dominicks is famous for its tasty late-night (usually after a drink or two) greasy great tasting food! This place does not disappoint. The parking is terrible, the staff is sometimes grumpy, and the place isnt the cleanest. But, if you want food that tastes good, fills your belly, and doesnt cost an arm and a leg. This is the place for you. I am getting hungry just thinking about it!
I have carried State Farm Insurance for many years. I am pleased with the service they offer and would recommend them to anyone. They are not pushy with their coverages, but do send a notice every now and then with things your might be interested in. On the occasion that I have had to file a claim, they have done it quickly and professionally and explained every detail along the way.
