Last week I went here for the first time and it was a good experience. Brooks Cleaners made a very good impression. They cleaned the clothing throughly and the service was spectacular! They have a drive thru and will come out to put it in your car! The prices are not the best, but are reasonable enough that I'd go back
Best Thrift has good clothing selection, but as with all thrift stores you have to find the items in all the racks of clothing. It's organization is not the best, but the women who work there are always busy trying to keep it neat. They often have discounts and will even send information regarding an upcoming sale. Price are moderate.
This church is enjoyable. It's large, but family friendly. It was advanced in technology, which made it easier to see when you sat in the balcony area. The sermons were very good and relevant to the times and culture of the area. Make sure to get there in plenty of time, as seats run out quickly here. Large following.
I really hope that this place is still opened or will re-open if it is not. It has some of the best seafood po-boys in the city. The shrimp are fresh and cooked hot, just like I like them. They have great fish selection and it is all very fresh and ready to cook. Make this a stop for hot food, but also for cold frozen fish that you can cook later.
Competing with New Orleans Daiquiris is difficult and this little daiquiri shop does a pretty good job at it. They have many flavors of daiquiri and have specials every day except Fridays and Saturdays. The only thing is that my wife doesn't drink and on 3 occasions when we were there she ordered a smoothie (which they claim to serve) and they were never able to fix it. Daiquiri Yes, but smoothie no.
This cleaners is good, especially if you are on a budget. However, don't expect to have your clothes back for 2-3 days and also make sure to be very specific about how you want your clothing cleaned, as they don't do a great job on their own. Mark spots with their red tape, to make sure they don't miss anything. The local owners are really friendly.
I had my wedding reception here and it was nice. It was clean and well decorated. Keith was helpful and very informative. As I planned my reception from 5 hours away, it was difficult and he was most helpful. He picked the flowers and the decorations and did a pretty good job. The food was above average and I would go back.
Drusilla's Seafood Restaurant is one of the best in Baton Rouge. Can't make it to New Orleans to get seafood, come to Baton Rouge and go to Drusilla's. The shrimp and their cocktail sauce are both really good. It has strange hours of operation, but otherwise is a really good place to have a good meal.
I regularlly used Drusilla's Cleaners when I lived in Baton Rouge, but it was primarily for location, as it was close to where I lived. It's prices were comparable, but it's time for drycleaning was lengthly. They also were average when it came to drycleaning my clothing. I would rate the service a 7.8 on a scale of 10
This supermarket is by far the cleanest I've seen in Baton Rouge in a long time. They have regular sales and have circulars that are mailed to your house. Their meat prices is the cheapest in the city and their produce is locally supplied I believe. The service here is also spectacular. Go visit and you'll see.
