Dr. Baker has a very popular orthodontal practice in
Ithaca. His prices tend to be high and I felt the
atmosphere a bit impersonal. I don't like being a
number and lined up in a row of chairs until it is
my turn. I also find the frontdesk staff indifferent.
If you don't mind this then Dr. Baker's office
will serve you fine. If you like more personal and
reasonable service, try Dr. Hand.
While I haven't used Dr. Monacellie for
cosmetic surgery, he has removed several
moles quite successfully. He is honest
and doesn't recommend surgery just
to have surgery, which I appreciate. He's
also honest about the outcomes and
possible scarring. What I like best about
this practice is the receptionist. She is one
of the nicest people I have come in contact
with and is a pleasure to work with.
If you are looking for a respected physician with
good outcomes to perform lasik surgery then
you should visit Dr. Arleo. Many people I know are pleased
with their results. If you are making an appointment to
have your eyes examined, you may want to look
elsewhere, unless you don't mind factory mill type
practices where the dr. rushes you and you're lucky
to see him for 5 minutes.
For routine obgyn care this practice is okay. If
you are over 30 and unable to become pregnant
within 6 months, seek a reproductive endrocronologist.
There is a lot of misinformation at this practice
regarding infertility which can waste valuable time.
I like this practice. While there are many doctors
the feeling isn't impersonal and someone always
has a smile for you. This is also one of the few
obgyn's that I found that will do vaginal ultrasound
and iui's on the weekend. You can have blood
drawn here and they will send it to the lab of
your choice so you only are charged for your
insurance plan's co-pay, not out of network costs.
If you want to see a psychiatrist who doesn't believe
in meds, then Dr. Leifer is for you. Please check
more into his background before setting up an
appointment, even if he is the only psychiatrist
in your insurance plan.
Dr. Markowitz is very personable, but his practice
just wasn't for me. Prescription lenses would
come back from the lab and not be correct. The
Dr. didn't see anything wrong with this variable,
so I went to another practice and guess what -
I got the perfect lenses with no arguments.
The store is drab, the service indifferent. What I
found disappointing is that there were no special
items in this store. The store is very dated and the
jewelry they sell reflects this.
Located smack in the middle of a residential area,
Judd Falls Laundromat is a nice change from the busy
strip mall laundromats. The machines are the
same, front end and agitator machines, but what
makes this business unique is the quiet friendly,
welcoming atmosphere that comes from being
surrounded by houses and trees.
Everything is expensive enough these days, so I
was excited when Mama Goose opened up in
Ithaca. It's a nice clean store with some adorable
clothes. Being gently used means the price is
affordable and you don't have to haunt garage
sales. They are also a good resource for selling
quickly outgrown or unused clothes.
