When I walk into Mac's Shop, I am immediately recognized and greeted. The barber does a very good job and is not slow at it. The shop has comfortable waiting area. Everyon is so nice and hospitable. Conversatioin starts easily. The prices are very competative and affordable. Mac's stays busy, but you can always get out pretty quickly. He also has great hours to serve many different work schedules.
This apartment complex is the home of my grand-mother. Her apartment is a good size for sinle person living. She enoys the location off of a main road. There are trees for shady walking or sitting on her semi-private porch. There is also a park within walking distance that has picnic tables for picnics. The manager responds to complaints quickly. The maintenace people are also friendly and timley. One of her favorite things is that there is a back yard with green grass. It is a quiet neighborhood.
Several friends and I were loking forward to a deepsea fishing trip at the outerbanks. We were travelling six hours the day before our reserved fishing tour. The owner called us when we were approximately an hour and half away to inform us their was a small craft advisory issued and we would not be able to go out. When he was asked why he did not call earlier, he stated our contact numbers were at his house. I wonder what kind of business are you running that you can not be considerate enough to call a travelling customer of acancellation. He offered to reschedule, however I refused. I will take a tour with a nother company.
The produce center is enclosed in a building so you can avoid the outside elements. They are open year round. Not only do they have fresh fruit and vegetables, but you can buy fresh seafood. I have bought wonderful fish and cooked them the same day for dinner. They always have great deals. It is located in a downtowm area so it is primarily street parking. The employees are nice and enjoy helping you bag your produce. I have never bought anything that was not class A.
The Hamlet Library is a small branch of the county library. The do seem to have a good selection of novels and biographies, however I seem to have a hard time finding much else. There area couple of computers for internet use and a small area or reference materials. They also seem to try to keep best sellers in. There is a small reading area with cusioned chairs in the front. The parking lot is very small and hard to back out of, especially if another car is coming. A good library if you are already close by.
This gift shop is a proud addition to the Scotland County heritage. They have a wide range of different collections to buy from. There is also gifts with a local flair such as cookbooks collaborations, history books and handmade items. The last time I went, I told the lady what mt wife liked and she showed me items right away to chose from. My wife loved it. Cards and gift wrap are on hand also. One of my favorit shops.
My grandmother was cared for in this nursing home for a while. She enjoyed her spacious, private room and bath. The nurses there were great with her and very patient. They all seem to have a great concern for the elderly. The patients are always given the option to join activities or sit in the sunny sitting room. There is a nice dining room. It is located under shady trees for outside sits and walks. I really felt good that the ambulance service is located just a few minutes away in case of an emergency hospital transport.
On the way for a hunting or fishing trip, stop by Ram Sporting Goods. The gentlemen can get you anything you need. They also carry hunting and fishing licenses. The store is on a corner lot so it easy to get in and out. The parking is ideal for trucks pulling trailers. When you walk in it appears to be alittel cluttered, but you will still receive quality service. They also have drinks and snacks in case you forgot to pack some for your day out.
This auto supply store has a wide selection of items for different types of vehicles and farm implements. Just a few weeks ago I needed a part for my tractor and could not find it anywhere, just before going out of town I found what I needed at Jenkins. The staff is quick with service. The store is located on a rather busy road and there can be limited parking.
This drug store makes me think of my parent's drug store. The pharmacist is the son of the previous pharmacist and is a well known and liked person in the community. The patrons are taken care of and their needs are met. They are located in a downtown area, so it is primarily street parking, but a space can always be found. There is also interesting historic artifacts to look at while you wait for your prescription.
