I hang out at quinn's many times a year, and i keep coming back because i really like the atmosphere. It feels like your down and dirty tavern nice and dank how i like it. The bartenders are awful in their service, but that's ok. The specials are good, and the wings are delicious. The selection of beers is satisfactory, adn the games (pool, etc..) are fun to play when killing time. My favorite part of quinn's is the lounge area facing the street. I could sit there all day if my wife and wallet let me. It's one of those bars where you can run into people you went ot high school with, and just have a good time. I'll keep going back.
PROS: people, beer
CONS: subpar bartending
Laurel lanes is on of those bowling alleys that still feels like a mom and pop shop in this age of corporate owned alleys. I know all the employees here and they are very friendly. The price of games has gone up to unreal numbers, and I refuse to bowl here unless I can get some sort of deal, or during a league. I am in a league and still have to pay over 2 dollar per game in my spare time. I pay twenty dollars a week for 3 games and this is how they reward us? Anyways, the food here is quite delicious and VERY reasonably priced, which keeps me coming back. I also enjoy the people who bowl there, who are not too rowdy. Good times.
PROS: atmosphere, food
CONS: non league price
I have been going to the hartford civic center since i was a young child. The civic center has not changed much since i was young. The place is not very clean, and the concessions are far too overpriced. I paid almost five dollars for a pretzel the other day. The selection of events at the civic center are also very limited. You can only see the hartford wolfpack play so many times before you don't return. The lighting in this place is pretty good, but the acoustics are horrible. A pro to this place is that it is right off the highway and easy to find.
CONS: everything else
I have been to many restaurants like thsi one in my day. The food here is definitely good. The burgers, which they are well known for, are delicious, and cooked perfectly. The french fries are skimpy, and I would prefer a seasoned fry or a curly fry as opposed to the ugly limp string fries, but I digress. Despite the deliciousness of the food, the service sometimes lacks. I had to wait a half hour just to have my credit card come back to me the other day. That is unacceptable because they were just lazy or "caught up" with a large group. The employees are average at best, so if they fix that, I'll eat here more often.
PROS: delicious burgers, decent price
CONS: bad service
Stop and shop has built a reputation in this town over the past few years for being the upscale place to shop in town. The food selection is always good, although sometimes things are out of stock. Products being out of stock are to be expected, and do not deter me from shopping there. The produce selection is fantastic compared to others in the area, and the meat is always fresh and not rancid. I've heard some rumors about bug infestation, which is disgusting, but I've never had any problems myself. I will continueu to shop here until further notice. Items are sometimes expensive compared to the walmarts of the world.
PROS: Produce, meat
I cannot say enough good things about this company. I have done business with them multiple times and they are consummate professionals all the way. Their customer service is phenomenal compared to other businesses in this feild, and the employees are tremendously knowledgable when asked any questions. Their building is also very attractive withthe blue and red color scheme. IN summary, great employees, great services, great job all the way. A+
PROS: Price, service
I will start out with what I like about this business. I like the good prices when I go with multiple friends at the same time. It seems you can spend a few hours there for only about ten bucks, which is great in this day and age. I also enjoy the arcade area because there are not too many places around the area that have arcade games. The food is not very good, especially for the price, so that is one thing they could improve upon. I also appreciate the fact that it is never impossible to get a table there, unlike some of the other places.
PROS: Good price, good way to spend an evening
CONS: Undelicious food
Lake Compounce amusement park is located near where I live, and I have been going there since I was a little kid. Aside from the novelty of it, the rides included are not anything too spectacular. They obviously have a low budget, but make do with what they have. The roller coasters are not nearly as thrilling as six flags or disney, but they do have a nice wooden coaster and I really enjoy the ski lift "ride". The price is good in relation to other amusement parks, but you also get less for your money. They should have more concerts there like they did in the old days.
PROS: Close, cheap
I like Loews because of the above average movie selection, and the audio quality in the theaters. The obvious downside to Loews Plainville is that the food and drinks are very expensive, but I guess that's how they make their money. I choose this particular theater over others in the area because it's cleaner and has just a generally better feel to it. The movie price itself is kind of high, costing about ten dollars on a friday night, but I guess there's worse things to spend your money on these days. I'll keep going to Loews Plainville as long as it remains a clean venue with a good movie selection.
This is the only movie theater in my hometown, and I must say that I am not displeased with that. The thing about this theater is that all the concessions are pretty pricey, but that's to be expected at any movie theater these days. The movie selection is on par with most other theaters in my area, carrying all major releases and such. Overall, I'd give this particular theater 7 stars, because although it's a fun place to go, it didn't BLOW me away. Loews in Plainville has better audio quality and is my preference when going out these days. Enjoy.
PROS: Only theater in town, arcade in it
CONS: Pricey Popcorn!
