This store is conviently located one block off of State 30A (aka the Arterial) in Gloversville and shares its ample parking space with Rugy & Quiri furniture store. The advantage to shopping here for your beer needs, is that they will accept a personal check for the keg deposit, but not cash it. Upon return of the tap & keg, you will get your check back, uncashed. Wine coolers in bulk (by the case) are much cheaper here than anywhere I've found locally.
Dr. Nina, as the dentist is known by her patients, is very compassionate towards the person sitting in the chair. She recently had the office space renovated and expanded, adding state-of-the-art equipment including new chairs. New hygentists are impending and the expanded staff should speed the wait time along. Overall, Dr. Nina and her husband Alex run a fine dental office.
The A.G. Cole Funeral Home is conveniently located at the corner of Main Street and Jansen Avenue. It has recently been operated by Nick Cannizzo and company with the same care and compassion that Alan Cole did for years. At a difficult time, the death of a loved one, it is nice to have experienced funeral directors at your side to aide you in the expensive decisions. Parking is ample on both sides of the street known as Jansen Avenue.
This local travel agency offers a hometown atmosphere, with very friendly representatives. The ladies who run this office are knowledgable and offer their services, maps, and helpful suggestions free of charge. They have ample parking in front of the office, enough to accomodate at least 10 to 15 cars. Most recently this agency helped me plan a trip to Boston, MA, and did a fabulous job! I love going in and letting them blow me away with their numerous destination suggestions.
This photo shop should be avoided at all costs. The owner is a total and complete rip off. He overcharges on every single product and service in his shop. Film is at least $1 to $3 more than what other competitors charge, and in particular, his camera prices are inflated by 20-50%. The only convenience to this store is the discount table that is constantly out in front of the entrance. You can usually find cheap postcards there of local landmarks.
This photographer was given a chance to demonstrate what he could do with a high school senior's photo. His work was not impressive to say the least. He admitted that since the required camera was to be digital, he could not promise a good result as he was not familiar with using a digital camera. The final product was horrible, blurry, and not used, however the charge remained the same: $25. Do not use this photographer if you desire anything other than a standard camera usage.
This tailor shop offers high quality tailoring. Ralph's is conveniently located on Main Street in Gloversville, but unfortunately has very limited parking on the side of the building. The shop offers convenient hours of operation (9 am to 5 pm) Monday thru Friday, and can perform minor alterations quickly (usually within one week). The owner does excellent work on hemming suit pants. I highly recommend!
If you are going to spend money on printed news, I would not recommend the Leader-Herald. It is a small, local newspaper, that covers Fulton and Montgomery counties. Unfortunately, the paper is continually filled with inaccuracies. There is no point spending money on this paper when competitors have so much more to offer.
This store is conviently located on the corner of State Highways 30A and 67. It offers gas, as well as a limited amount of grocery items including milk, bread, and small automotive supplies. The most important feature to me is the fact that they have an on-site deli that sells cold-cuts at a reasonable price. Turkey breast is less than $5 per pound. A real bargain here!
This car dealership should be avoided! After spending thousands of dollars on a brand new car, the service department was extremely disappointing, to say the least. The service department performed unauthorized work on my vehicle, and constantly had problems providing me with a rental / loaner vehicle. They even sold my sister a vehicle that had it's title listed as "salvage". Avoid at all costs!
