The Booksmith is a trendy book store that sells books, magazines, cards and even espresso. They buy and sell used and rare books and if they don't have want you want, they will order it for you. They've always been really nice to me when I've ordered books before and they will call and let me know as soon as it comes in. A bit on the pricey side.
My dad bought my mom an antique piano for their last anniversary and it was spectacularly out of tune, so we called Knights. They were able to tune it properly and it sounds really lovely now. The guy who tuned it was really knowledgeable and took good care with it. We were happily surprised at the bill too.
We've had occasion to lose our house and car keys over the years and my husband managed to lock himself outside one day, so we've used Fred's many times. They can open your locked car, your house, make master keys and copies and they don't charge an arm and a leg.
We have all of our cars insured with Rogers and life insurance policies on ourselves as well. They got us a good deal on multiple vehicle coverage and explained the pros and cons of whole versus term life insurance.
A good, less-expensive option (instead of Lens Crafters) for your optical needs. They have a really nice assortment of brand name glasses and they fill your prescription promptly. They also offer eye exams and their prices are competitive. My husband just recently bought some Eddie Bauer glasses from them and he loves them.
Our gutters had started rotting and were always clogged, so we called around for some estimates for new aluminum gutters and Smith Gutter had the best deal. They came the next day and installed them and we were so pleased with the work they did, that we've already sent more business their way through our family and friends.
We take our film to them to be developed and have always been pleased with the pictures. They do a nice job and the quality of the prints is excellent. They stand by their work and are affordable. We also had some family portraits done there and they came out really well.
A small, efficient travel agency. It's a good place to make travel arrangements within the US and we've booked two cruises with them, but I don't think I'd use them for international travel. They're nice though.
My car was out of alignment, so my husband called around for some prices and they seemed the most reasonable and friendliest. He dropped it off in the morning and was able to pick it up that same afternoon. The guy that worked on it explained exactly what they had done and answered some question my husband had. All-in-all, we were very happy with their service and prices.
I'm not a big fan of ironing, so I have a lot of our clothes dry cleaned and pressed at Rainbow Cleaners. They do a nice job on my husband's work shirts and I was thrilled when they were able to get some stains out of a white linen suit of mine. Their prices are low and they are able to get them back to you super fast.
