I love this place. They have anything a vegetarian/vegan/health-conscious person could need. organice produce, vitamins, drinks, mixes, breads, soups, frozen items, nuts, juicers, everything. they also have a really yummy deli and juice bar. The prices are a bit high, but what do you expect from a health food store?
I can't really say much about the tattooing, though I hear it is very pricey. What I can say is avoid being pierced by Chuck. I found him to be terribly snotty, bragging that he was the only registered nurse doing piercings in the area, that he was the best, etc. And lo and behold, he pierced my eyebrow really far down (barely on my eyebrow at all)... it looked stupid. I ended up having it redone somewhere else. Yeah, he's the best, alright..... (not)
Pearl is where I went when I needed a boatload of supplies for school. They have everything you could need (including a really nice selection of gifts and picture frames) and despite what others may say, the prices are reasonable. Ever shop at Michael's? you'll really pay there. Pearl also has these wonderful durable BIG bags they give you when you buy big items.. I use them for carrying packages to the post office.. they hold up pretty darn well. thanks, Pearl!
I really like the selection of funky footwear at this store. they have crazy boots, platform heels, and even a few "normal" pairs. unlike a lot of the overpriced junk you will find on 7th avenue, the prices here are about like what you will find at the mall, but the selection is not.......
This is a funky little shop in Carrollwood with cool raver/hippie/goth/etc. clothing and gifts. I have found some really great deals on their clearance rack (a lip service shirt for $10) and was happy to find fudge hair dye. They don't have much, but what they have is really cool.
I had my baby at Morton Plant, and even though it wasn't close to my home, I am so glad I did. The nurses and doctors are so incredibly nice and helpful. The lactation specialists are a lifesaver. I probably would have given up on breastfeeding if they hadn't been there. They really make sure you have the hang of it before you leave. I would definitely go back given the choice. The rooms are very homey and hey, even the food is good!
If you are looking for crazy, retro furniture, clothing, gifts, novelties...... this is the place to go! You will be amazed at the stuff this guy finds for his shop... The prices are ok on some things and high on others... I only wish I had more money to spend here.. I would get a bunch of really funky furniture...
hey, it's a junior college. the class sizes are small, tuition is cheap, and some of the teachers are excellent. then again, some are absolutely unqualified (junior high school teachers, anyone?). The student services staff can be hard to deal with sometimes. If you have to deal with them, may I suggest the dale mabry campus... go to ybor and you will be sorry. ybor puts on a decent art show, though.
This thrift store seems to get all of Tampa's really cool stuff. =) I am always thrilled with the stuff I find. The prices are perhaps a tad bit high, but you can often find awesome coupons in mailings and in the Weekly Planet. One complaint: they don't carry furniture.
This place has always been wonderful. They have a huge selection of popular and unusual titles with outstanding prices. You never know what interesting stuff you will come across. Their exchange program is great, too. Bring in your music and movies and get cash or even more money if you spend it in the store. Good deal!
