I stopped at this store when I was in Lahaina because I love novelty items. I was surprised to find out that this store mainly sells a delightful array of one-of-a-kind plush monkeys. The stuffed monkeys come in many various outfits and designs. I thought the monkeys were really cute but I didn't end up buying any of them. This store also sells other novelty items and its nice to just browse around in. Lots of parking here at the Lahaina Center.
Since I use only glycerin soaps, I bought severy of these soaps from this store. Their glycerin soaps are really attractive and come in a variety of colors and designs. Not only are the colors really beautiful but the smell of the tropical fragrances are really good. I use these soaps for the shower and as air fresheners for the bathroom. This store also sells a myriad of candles such as votive candles and Hawaiian candles that come in a variety of scents and designs, all made on Maui. I love this store and can shop in here for hours.
When I travel to Maui to visit my family we hang out at this amll because my favorite stores are here. This shopping center is located near the Kahului Airport. Amoung its tenants are several large chain stores like Borders, the Sports Authority, OfficeMax, and Eagle Hardware. They have numerous specialty shops and a food court. Even though this shopping center is not luxurious or fancy, it has some of the best large stores like Borders and OfficeMax. I love to take the kids to Borders while my sister shops at the other specialty stores. There is a lot of parking at this Kahului shopping center.
This hotel is located next door to Whalers Village and it's right on the beach. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit that had spectacular views of the ocean. The beach was just great white white sand and hardly any rocks. Our unit came with a full kitchen and a nice private lanai. We walked to the Whalers Village everyday. The shopping center has outstanding restaurants, entertainment, shops and boutiques. I would stay here again because of its location and beautiful beach.
I bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses when I went shopping with my family in Lahaina. Their glasses are very stylish and comfortable which is why I bought them. It doesn't sit heavily on your nose but rests nicely on your face. I'm quite pleased with my Polarized glasses because it blocks horizontally reflected glare plus glare from above, below and behind the lens. These are my favorite glasses to wear when I want to block out the sun's rays. My glasses were very expensive (over $100) but it is my favorite pair.
This shopping center is located on the west end of Waikiki and houses Niketown, Banana Republic and All Star (formerly known as All Star Caf). I bought some Nike apparel here for my son who is in to Nike logo merchandise. Niketown is a large store that sells Nike brand merchandise and is decorated with metal artwork, large wall graphics, interactive displays and video display monitors. I also love to shop at the Banana Republic store which sells really nice women's apparel with a rugged, outdoor look. Right outside the building is the sports bar called All Star where you can enjoy lunch or dinner in a fun atmosphere of big screen televisions, live music and a colorfully designed seating area. It is very difficult to find parking here and I would recommend that you walk to King Kalakaua Plaza from your hotel or take the bus.
This is the new extension of the Victoria Ward Centers. Bustling with excitement, this center has a whole lot of shops and eateries along with cinemas and an arcade style entertainment center. This is where we hang out on the weekends. We have already seen numerous movies at their state-of-the-art 16-screen megaplex and we have gone to Dave & Busters many times. We enjoy taking our kids to Dave & Buster's because they like to win tickets for prizes that they can choose from at the small prize store. There are many eateries in the area but we always stop at Wolfgang Pucks, Starbucks and Jamba Juice. There is free parking across the street and free parking about 1 block away. The parking lot across the street gets filled very fast on the weekends so your best bet would be to park at the parking lot located across the Ward Centre.
The Moanalua Shopping Center is not a beautiful and busy shopping center like Kahala Mall or The Windward Shopping Center. In fact this old shopping center was built in the 1950s and now includes mostly fast food restaurants such as Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Jack in the Box, KFC, McDonald's and a 7-11 convenience store. This shopping center mainly caters to the island residents and the military. Don't expect to go shopping here because there are hardly any tenants here.
This is where we come to go ice skating at the Ice Palace. We either eat at Taco Bell or we eat at one of the Chinese Restaurants that is located here at the Stadium Mall. I think that people mainly come to this mall to either skate or to eat. The Ice Palace is the only ice skating rink in Hawaii which is why it is a popular place on the weekends. They also hold private parties and special events at the Ice Palace. Their restaurants and fast food eateries are very good and well-maintained. Parking can get hairy on the weekends and you might end up parking far away when it gets crowded.
We have stayed here numerous times with our family. The front desk is always friendly and gives us fairly good rooms. I love staying in their suites which have 2 rooms, one for the adults and one for the kids. The second room is very spacious with a 2 sofas that can be converted into beds. It also has a beautiful view of the Waikiki Yacht Harbor. The location of this hotel is really nice because it's close to Ala Moana and it's not smack in the middle of noisy Waikiki. We enjoy eating the breakfast buffet at The Prince Court Restaurant which is located on the second floor that overlooks the harbor. The prices are high but we get a discounted rate. I love this hotel and its my home away from home.
