Holly Springs, NC Gardeners 07/30/06: 'Save your money or suffer the consequences'

I thought a neighborhood business, a local business, would be a legitimate one. Untrue. I should have known because they aren't Chamber members, but I gave it a chance. Needed my yard spruced up w/some pine straw till I wait for fall to re-seed it. It was in poor shape and I neglected it. I asked for some advice and some pine straw. I got instead, a greedy business that charged me for 40 bales of pine straw and ruined the yard. It looked better before. I am trying to sell my house and went way over budget on this one, not to mention that this business owner simply didn't care and told me after i expressed that he really didn't listen to my instructions that any add'l advice would be free. W/that kind of advice, i am better off on my own. I'll never support local business again.

CONS: greedy, money-grubbing business. not an expert in lawn care

What a pleasant little shop. I liked the staff and they were knowledgeable and friendly. The variety is excellent and they do offer some pricy items, but they are not out to rip you off and will rather recommend what you can afford and find alternatives instead of just trying to make a sale. It was so fragrant!

You can get photos here for a variety of purposes. Special occasions or otherwise, it is good quality, they will not be happy unless you are more than satisfied. You can appreciate the black and white even though the color is also very vibrant. Cute settings and adorable shots if you want images captured for eternity of your little darlings. A bit steep.

It is all about the earth and how good you are to it. Seasonal hikes, trails, and the ever famous Festival on the Eno that has taken place annually for years, all make this site so very special. It is a fun day outing and they offer activities and events throughout the year. If you prefer water sports, you have an excellent opportunity to canoe and kayak here as well.

They take care of your pet, offer day care, grooming, and vaccinations. However, it is all basic, run of the mill treatment. Nothing special and no frills. Just the essentials and just what you pay for and that is pretty inexpensive, but it is not something I would choose for an indulgent grooming and I think in a pinch, you won't need to fret about leaving your pet for a few hours. They haven't done me wrong, but it's just not a cushy and overly special place.

They offer not just grooming, but day and overnight boarding for your pets. The staff is friendly, they love pets, and are compassionate. The day care for your pet will ensure that it is well taken care of with their cozy environment for pets. The doggie day care is a day at the country club! They are also trained in obedience classes and just about all their services--top class!

Wild Birds Unlimited

So many people have a cat or dog or several, but this shop is exclusive to taking good care of your bird, just about any kind. They love birds, bird feeders, talking about birds, giving and sharing knowlege, etc. They are specially certified in birdfeeding, so you need not worry about doing the wrong thing. They will even stay open a bit beyond the hours when necessary to accommodate their clients getting off work. It is pretty affordable as well.

Okay, so they care about pets and they do it in a classy way. They also care about charitable work--adoption for pets--they care about the pet population community. It is a boutique for pets--birds, cats, and dogs. They will order products for you and they are crazy about the good care of your pet. They give good advice, fair prices, and offer store events (book signings). It is a fun place to pamper your pet.

More pet lovers than you can imagine work here. They have a good work ethic and it pays off through the service on your dog. They take their time and do it right. You won't be disappointed and they are trustworthy, reliable, and affordable. What more can you ask from someone who washes your dog and gives him/her a little pampering as they go?

Durham, NC Pet Washing & Grooming - Durham, NC Pet Supplies & Accessories 02/12/06: 'pets treat'

They care about dogs and I think they love their work, which makes all the difference if you are going to pay for getting your dog groomed rather than doing it yourself. They are reliable, friendly, and very reasonably priced. I know the dogs always get star treatment and come out smelling like a rose--just nice and bathed and so clean.
