This is a great little market in South St. Louis (Devonshire and Macklind.) They have the best prices in town on cheeses, olives, sausage, and pasta. Manzo's hand makes the sausage and it's unbelievably delicious.
Don't forget to stock up on your spices, herbs and oils at really terrific prices too. Call ahead and order your sausages for pick up to guarantee you can get them, sometimes they sell out. Call for hours, I think they are closed on Mondays.
Scandals Day Spa is a nice little retreat in the heart of Oakville. They have a full range of services available including packages to allow you to have a spa day. Along with the regular "adult" services like spa manicures, pedicures, massages, etc...they offer a special menu designed for teens! For a lower price, your teen can enjoy much of the same treatments for a price you won't gasp at!
Their gift certificates are a perfect gift for anyone!
A trip to St. Louis isn't complete without visiting this gem on the Near north side (just north of downtown). This family owned restaurant, ice creamery and candy store makes the finest treats you can imagine. You can't go wrong with a pound of Heavenly Hash or a box of nut clusters as a gift to someone special.
Don't forget to sit down and enjoy a sandwich and sundae before leaving. The Reuben is wonderful but don't ignore the chili tamale! You won't regret ordering a chocolate banana malt (made the old-fashioned way) or a Crown Newport (homemade gooey hot fudge, homemade butterscotch, toasted pecans and real whipped cream!...choose your own ice cream flavors or let them use the finest vanilla ice cream you've ever tasted!)
The St. Louis Altenheim is a WONDERFUL facility. Beautifully decorated lobby and common area. Good food and attentive, caring staff make this a great place for your loved one to live when he or she can't live on their own anymore. And you can't beat the view of the river!
Within a day of moving in, all the staff knew my grandmother's name and her special needs. It's a small facility and the residents enjoy many activities every day and special friendships at mealtimes.
The dentists and hygienists are wonderful. They are very kind, gentle and thorough. The only problem with this practice is their pricing. It is very high compared to other dentists in the area. They do offer laughing gas but it's also high priced ($50+) Check carefully with your dental insurance or ask pricing up front for any and all procedures you need completed so you don't get a shock from the bill.
The office is well located in a medical building near St. Anthony's hospital, complete with FREE Valet parking.
