Hikari Japanese Steakhouse

Las Vegas, NV Japanese Restaurants 04/28/08: 'Sushi Just Okay, Service Was the Pits'

Ate there twice. First was an okay experience but I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the sushi served. The second time was a disaster with the waiter not bringing what I ordered and then claiming that I never ordered it. This after about a hour and half of him telling me it was coming. The owner did little to help the situation when I complained calling me a liar and saying he would take off the cost of one meal and that should be good enough. Not the point. You waiter calls me a liar, doesn't bring my sushi after telling me for over an hour that it's coming and I'm the bad one. Never again!

Cathay House Dim Sum Restaurant

Las Vegas, NV Chinese Restaurants 04/28/08: 'Dim Sum Good but Service Poor'

The Dim Sum used to be the best, there is another nearby competition that has surpassed them in that department but I still have a place in my heart for the restaurant because my cousin had his reception there and it was great. That said, I haven't been really impressed with the place in the past year and haven't returned in about six months.

Coo Coo's Gourmet Coffee Cafe

Henderson, NV Restaurants 12/06/07: 'Great Service, Great Food'

Coo Coos is a great little out of the way cafe. It's very local and small and is more suited for getting something on the go but has great drinks. Their funky monkey frappe is a godsend and their breakfast and lunch menu always satisfy. I highly recommend.

Lotus

Henderson, NV Restaurants 12/06/07: 'It's just okay'

I've given this restaurant a shot twice. The food is kind of bland and americanized but the service is so good that it's hard not to patronize the business. The lunch specials are well within anyone's budget but personally I wish the entrees had the same great flavor to go with such an excellent staff.

Diamond Chinese Restaurant

Las Vegas, NV Chinese Restaurants 12/04/07: 'Ancient Chinese Secret'

Ok, maybe its not all that but being nestled inthe back of Sonny's Saloon on Industrial Road makes it seem like it's trying to be kept secret but I'll let you in on something....this is the best Chinese food in Vegas. It's always the case isn't it? The best food seems to be found in the businesses that have been here forever and look run down or located in places not usually traversed by local or tourist. Their noodle dishes are to die for (Beef Chow Fun Yum), the soups are delicious and for what they are known in town. LVRJ once had them in the Best of Las Vegas poll as Best Anomaly being a restaurant in the back of a saloon. I'd go before the owner finally gets around to retiring. Authentic, delicious Chinese food.

Thai Bbq

Las Vegas, NV Chinese Restaurants 12/04/07: 'This is Thai food?'

Yes, and boy is it good. I have been going to Thai BBQ for over 10 years if you count a previous location they had downtown. The food quality if consisently great and the BBQ is second to none. I just visited another restaurant the other day and asked if they had BBQ and they couldn't even grasp the concept. This place is a local treasure and you should go if you haven't already. Stop keeping it your secret! I think I'll go tonight.

Hue Thai Sandwiches

Las Vegas, NV Thai Restaurants 12/04/07: 'Top Notch Service and Food'

This restaurant nestled in the corner of the Chinatown plaza next to Southwest Gas is a treasure find. The sandwiches are so good as well as the other entries. I can't stop returning to this place!

Shack-Findlay Honda

Bad sales experience. The salesman was nice enough but once you sat down it was almost as if they felt the need to live up to the stereotypical conning by the car dealership. The Finance guy told me that I owed more money on my current vehicle than I did to which I was easily able to rebuke using my laptop and showing them what was owed on my account online. He later retracted and said that in fact his numbers were lower than what my account said online. Hmmm. So we continued and then he came up with number based on my credit score which wasn't so good. I walked away from the deal they were offering and bought with another dealership come to find out that my credit score was good when I checked it, they lied to me about that too in order to jack up my interest rate, and they were going to seriously lowball me on my trade. What a horrible experience and waste of a few hours. Never again.

Jim Marsh Chrysler Jeep

Las Vegas, NV Car Dealers - Las Vegas, NV Auto Repair 07/03/07: 'Car Buying Made Easy'

Not only did they comparatively have the better prices amongst all the Jeep dealers in town according to my research I conducted online they didn't drive the sale down your throat. They were straight forward willing to work with you to make the right deal for you at terms that all could agree. Steve Broka was extremely professional, nice, and didn't play those games that I ran into in the other five dealers I had visited prior to this one. I would most sincerely recommend this for anyone looking to avoid the hassle that is usually involved in a car buying experience.
