I am so happy to have found this place, save me from having to drive into the cities to go to a co-op. It is neatly organized, have a good variety of food, natural & diet foods. They also have natural beauty products, toiletries. The prices are low for a co-op. The prices on the frozen vegetarian stuff are pretty good. Sometime I go in there looking for something that I am not even sure if it exists, & they are really nice (tolerent) about helping me find what I am looking for. Plus you don't have to pay for parking, (or have trouble finding a place) like some in the Twin Cities.
PROS: variety, quality of produce, value
This is a great place to go skiing, and in the warmer months they have the a recreation park. The hills are great, they have something for every difficulty level, so everyone has fun. Plenty of ski lifts, so the lines are not usually very long. We try to ski a couple time a month, and we often choose this place to go. It cost $34 for a day pass, $26 for a night pass, but it is fun. They have a website w/ info about Skiing, & ski conditions and other things to do in the area http://www.wildmountain.com/skisb/skisb_home.html
This makes or a fun (& educational) family outing. They have a variety of events through out the year. The staff are very easy to talk to, & willing to share their knowledge. It is affordable too, I believe the rates change slightly depending on what they have going on. It is just interesting to go and look around, even with out any special events. It was almost shut down about a year ago, so I for one am glad it is still there. It is right off of Hwy 10, in Elk River.
This guy is the best dentist I have ever had. I only wish I didn't live so far from his office. He is very good with people who are afraid. He tells you ways to relax, they have headphones to wear to help you relax. He & his assistant pay attention to details that will make/keep you comfortable. He does a heath review w/ each person before he works on them...so he knows the person as a whole...not just their mouth. The hygentist is also very good, doesn't make you feel bad if you do have dental problem, she is real positive. They run on schedule, little to no waiting. The secretary does not fit the rest of the enviroment, she seems out of place... she is very unfriendly, intolerent, & impatient. It is worth it to put up w/ her though, because Mark Watson is fantastic, and that is not something I have said about any other dentists! I have had some dental insurance through work that he doesn't accept, so even when I did live close I couldn't always go to him. For about 10 years whenever I could go to him, I did.
This clinic is part of Mercy/ Unity Hosp. I thought they were good w/ most things; they don't make you wait long, most people are friendly. One lady saw me & just blurted out "Name?" I was embarassed for her, because she just seemed to be unfriendly & illmannered. Then there are others that are super friendly, in a genuine way. One thing that bothered me was that they didn't provide post surgery directions, in writing. I just wasn't able to focus, or remember what they were saying, it would've been nice to have it in writing. The other thing that bothered me was the little 'room' if you can call it that (3 walls, w/ one long curtain) that they have you prepare for surgery in, very little privacy, the nurse was telling me what I had to do ("get undressed, u can leave on....") The people in the surrounding rooms were watching, & listening. I felt like I was on stage, doing a hospital scene...it was terrible...kids, fathers, grandpas, and more all watching as she tells me what I need to do, I pull the curtain...even though I knew the curtain wasn't see through, I felt like they could see me....they knew what I was doing...she just told them...they could see my feet...anyway u get the picture... I didn't like it. Then a nurse comes in to ask about my health history, she said the anestegealogist ( I am sure I spelled that wrong) requires that they do a preg. test. (I don't think they want to 'put you under' if you are preg). She stressed that it is required, then they never did test to see if I was preg. Other than those things and the cost of an outpatient surgery these days, I thought things went well.
Well the price seems high to me, but I guess they all are, so what do you do. Training lasts for an hour. They have one area in the back, like half the size of a gym. The problem is they have more than one class going on at one time, with only a fence to separate them. This makes it difficult to hear, & to concentrate. The lady that runs our class is really friendly, she socializes with everyone. She is also very knowledgable, & gives lots of tips for different dog 'problems'.
I am hard to impress when it comes to Dry cleaning. I figure because I am paying for the service, that it should be better than what I could do at home. I have had things ruined because someone left something in a pocket, and it ended up getting on the whole load. Or wrinkles that are ironed into the clothes, and bottons, they iron (because of the size of their iron) right over them, often either ruining the button, or if it is under a layer of fabric- you get a permanent 'button ring'. The manager is difficult to contact, usually seems to be entry level employees when I come & go. I can usually find coupons to make it cheaper (I think the price is OK to begin with) , & it is convenient, so I keep going. Overall they do an allright job.
I go to this place to buy meat because of the quality and the price. The price meets or beats the grocery store prices., & the specials are even better. The selction is another bonus, they have some things I either have a hard time finding, or never see at the grocery store. I like to keep things simple, get errands donefast by avoiding extra stops, but this stop is worth it. The service is friendly. Also, food sanitation seems to be a priorty to them, which is important to me.
It is find, right off of Hwy 10 & Sunfish lake blvd. Hard to miss w/ their huge outdoor display. Their prices are a bit high, but their quality & selection is great. We bought a bench there and paid more than other store that carry a similiar product. I glad we decided to get it there though, because is made well, & so comfy. We are thinking about getting a bench seat swing ( not sure what they are really called). As for the selection they have so many things for the yard furniturre, bridges, wishing wells, dog houses, play houses, light houses, ect, ect. There are four locations, all in Elk River, Coonrapids, & Anoka, not sure if they all have the same stuff or not, but I know the one on Hwy 10 is worth the drive.
We finally found a vet in this area that we like. 3rd try is a charm! The staff are not only friendly, but helpful. They provide a big envelope full of info, when you come w/ a new puppy. The most helpful thing was a list of things that dogs are not supposed to eat. They have good & fair pricing, but aren't focused on just $$. Appt are easy to make at our convenience, & they are open in the evening.
