Mr Twitters Garden & Gift Emporium
You will find a wonderful little shoppe that takes you away from it all. If you walk the grounds outside, you will be transported to a magical garden that follows the natural hillside, with rock formations, statues, flowers and plants and all over looking the river. The staff are more than happy to show you how they have planted things, give you ideas, etc. Inside you will find a ton of unique gifts that are yard and garden related, as well as collectibles, household itmes, gourmet foods, and things like Burt's Bees, etc. There is always coffee and a treat to sample, and a wonderful restroom that is not only clean and nice to look at, but filled with wonderful soaps and lotions to try. The bathroom alone is worth the trip! The store carries a wide array of wind chimes, stained glass sun catchers, books and so much more. Also, you can make an appointment to have a staff member come out to your home, and walk through your yard with you, letting you know what you have, what you could add, or do to make it even better, at no charge. This is a great place, and the different seasonal displays and decorations are such fun, don't miss it!
Ko Kopelli's Green Market
If you'd like to use natural, safe, non-toxic cleaning and home products for your family, this is the place to go. Kokopelli's Green Market carries a wide array of Green products from laundry detergent to organic coffee to natural body/health care to lightbulbs. Many items that are not availabe in the grocery or other stores in this area are all here. You can also find natural care for babies and children, wonderful incense and gifts by local artisans like beautiful door chimes/harps. Also, you won't want to miss the organic maple syrup! I can't say enough about the owners. They are so friendly, and knowledgeable and always willing to help and answer questions, and make things easy for you. You can go into the store, or order online, which makes it really convenient. I highly recommend this store to anyone that cares about keeping themselves and their families healthy.
Todays Child New & Used
I have three children, and while I like to dress them well, I can't believe the price of decent clothes for kids! Here, you can find gently used and new items from all different styles and brands. I am a fan of Hanna Andersen clothes for kids, but can't afford them. I have found several pieces of Hannas in nearly new condition for just a few dollars for the kids. Also great deals on Kamik snow boots, new, and other brands. One day my son got sick in the car on the way into Rutland. It was the one day I had forgotten to bring a change of clothes in case of any accidents. Happily, I was able to run into Today's Child and purchase a really cute outfit that looked like new for about $3, you can't beat that. They also have toys, books, videos, dvds and software. The store is very child friendly, and the kids are welcome to play with the toys in that area, as long as parent put them away,so the kids will have a good time, too.
Mcdonald William J Dentist - William J McDonald, DDS
We see Dr. Brennar here and he is a wonderful dentist. Our six year old daughter had to have a root canal, and we were of course nervous for her. As a testament to how gentle Dr. Brennar is, she wanted to go BACK - the next day! She never felt a thing. The way they explained everything to her, and took the time to show her all the intruments and things they would be using was great. She wasn't nervous at all, and actually fell asleep during the procedure. Now how's that for a great dentist? We highly recommend this practice for your family's dentistry needs.
Neshobe Family Medicine
I have three children and have been very pleased with the staff at Neshobe Family Medicine. Our care has been wonderful, and with three physicians, there is someone for everyone. We chose Dr. J. Wulfmann as he uses homeopathic and other holistic medicines as well as traditional allopathic, and have been very pleased with him. Over the last year, the kids have had the oppurtunity to see all of the physicians in the practice and they have all been wonderful. This is a great place for your whole family to recieve care, and the staff is very friendly.
Whelden Coal
Whelden Coal has been great to us. When we first moved here, my husband always had the car for work, and I have three kids, so getting out to fill out paperwork as the other fuel companies here in town asked me to do was very difficult. Whelden Coal was more than happy to set everything up over the phone, and made it a breeze. They are always really good about getting a delivery to you if you run out or are very low, they make a special trip. The fact that they offer service as well as fuel also makes them great to have, as they can also do your repairs and maintenance. We've been very happy with them, and highly recommend.
Browns Of Brandon Gift Shop
Step into Brown's Pharmacy and you will step into the past. One half of Brown's is an old fashioned pharmacy with everything you would expect. Just through and archway and you are in a fantastical gift store with something for everyone. There are toys, the amazing marionettes that you see outside the storefront, cards, candles by Yankee Candle and so much more. Much of the inventory is made by local or VT artists/artisans. They carry many seasonal decorations and gifts, many are very unique and unusual. If you can't find a gift here for an occasion, you're not likely to find it anywhere else, either.
Vermont Made Furniture Outlet
Located in a lovely farmhouse type store, this shop is full with beautiful handmade Vermont furniture, gifts and accessories. Whether you are shopping for living room furniture, a cradle or crib for that new baby, or a lovely farmhouse table and pie cabinet, it's all here. Many styles and finishes are available and the staff was wonderful - friendly and helpful while also letting you browse in peace. Feel free to sit back and rock on one of the gorgeous rocking chairs and relax for awhile. Lovely Vermont-made candles and other fine gifts are available here, as well.
Shapiro's Country Dept Store
Shapiro's is unassuming from the outside, blending in with the other shoppes in the row of Historic Downtown Brandon. You can stroll over from the Park and Bandstand, or from the Brandon Inn next door. Once you walk in, you realize that there is much to see! Shapiro's sells lots of necessary items like coats, shoes, hats, slippers, work wear, clothing, etc. But they also have lots of nifty little gifts, toys and other great finds. The small but wonderful toy section has quality toys, many are handmade, or styled after heirloom toys of yesteryear. Amazing and some giant stuffed animals are there to greet you. There are finds form local artists and craftspeople as well. There is always a great clearance section for real deals, too. Friendly and helpful, the staff is always a delight.
Beyond Infinity
Beyond Infinity is a wonderful little shop nestled in the heart of downtown Historic Brandon that is a pleasure to browse through. The have everything from New Age to Health to all types of Spirituality, books, gifts, and other items. Classes and seminars are always ongoing as well. There is a man out front re-caning and repairing antique chairs, and it's great fun to watch him. The staff are friendly and helpful and you don't feel as if you are in a shoppe, so much as if you are hanging out with friends.
