The Tap Room is the place all the locals go for great microbrewed beer. Their beer list is quite extensive and changes with each season. While the alcohol and atomosphere are a favorite of most locals, the food menu doesn't offer a large variety of dishes. This is a place we frequent after dinner on the weekends.
CONS: not a lot of selection on the dinner menu
I have bringing my car to Conover Automotive for over a year for routine oil changes and tune-ups. I appreciate how the guys who work there don't try to take advantage of the fact that I'm a girl and try to tell me things are wrong with my vehicle that truly aren't. They're very straight forward and always do great work. I consider their prices to be reasonable for an independent garage.
PROS: Straight forward/ knowledgable workers
Creative learning is the only local store that teachers can go to in order to directly buy educational supplies and resources. The women who own the store are very nice and willing to help customers in any way they can. There are no real deals here because they charge catalogue prices on their items. The only real deal is that you don't have to pay the shipping. They have a nice variety of theme items and borders.
PROS: Personable staff.
CONS: Not cheap compared to catalogues
Brownshedd offers very high quality clothing for both men and women. Their small, family staff is very attentive to individual customer needs. Their clothes are both trendy and classic. While prices are higher than going to the mall, the quality of clothing and customer attention you receive is higher as well.
PROS: Very high quality clothing. Excellent customer service
I have been going to Trina Chapman at Trends Studio for over two years. She always takes time to make sure I completely love my hair cut and color. I consider her prices to be very reasonable- $5 per foil and $25 for a haircut/blow dry. It always costs me $65 with my foils, base color, cut, and blowdry. The stylists are aware of trendy cuts and styles and work very well with their clients to give them the look they desire. I have recommended Trends Studio and Trina personally to several co-workers and friends.
PROS: Fairly easy to get an appointment and reasonably priced.
I regulary take my dog and cats to Viewmont Animal Hospital for their shots and routine check-ups. They are a very friendly, care about my pets, and always take time to answer my questions. Their prices for office visits and shots are a little higher than other local practices, but I am always able to get an appointment. In addition to always being able to get an appointment, they have taken great care of my pets during the few emergency visits without appointments I have had to make. You can tell that animals are their priority.
PROS: Animals are a priority here.
CONS: A little more pricey than other local establishments.
I have to go out of town a lot for my job and I always have my dog boarded at Conover Vet. They take great care of him and he's always so happy there. The staff there goes out of their way to ensure that special requests are tended to and that each animal receives attention. I consider the rates to be very reasonable: $15/night for a 75lb dog and that includes a check-up with the vet on duty during his stay. I have recommended this boarding facility to other friends and co-workers and they have expressed their satisfaction as well.
PROS: small and friendly
The collision center at Everrett Chevrolet has been a great business to deal with. After I was in a car wreck several months ago, my insurance company recommended that they do the repair work on my car. They did a great job and kept me informed throughout the process. The work they did was excellent and I have since brought my car back there for some unrelated body damage because they did such a good job the first time. They value their customers and I appreciated their hard work. For the quality of work they do, I consider them to have very reasonable rates.
