King Capital Llc Coffee Socty
Coffee Society makes very good drinks -- with fancy designs in your foam as an added touch. Service is friendly and fast, there are lots of yummy pastry options and free wifi so you can sip and surf.
Mistral Restaurant & Bar
Mistral is tucked in a small strip mall, but has a lovely water view since it looks out at a lagoon in Redwood Shores. The atmosphere is pleasant, service is friendly and prompt, and they have some good lunch options as well as tasty appetizers and drinks. For a business lunch or team gathering, it's a good option.

Sundance The Steakhouse
Sundance is definitely the place to go if you are in the mood for a great steak dinner in an elegant, clubby atmosphere. Everything from the seating, to menu selections, to our amazing waiter, made the experience a very good and memorable one. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. He came by to let us know that one of our items was running a few minutes behind and it everything came shortly after provided us with the update (instead of leaving us to wonder). Also, we had one member of our party that was a vegan, and they made sure that he was well taken care of and had plenty of options amid a sea of carnivorous delights. We splurged and had the appetizer platter (awesome!), a variety of the steaks (all done to perfection), a pasta option for our vegan (he said it was great), and desserts too (all so good, even though we were stuffed). A great experience -- highly recommend!
Menlo Cafe
Located right next to Stacks, Menlo Cafe is a great local place. Nice, friendly service. They make a great latte -- good coffee, very good foam, and a good size for a reasonable price.
Quattro
I recently had a business breakfast at Quattro and found it to be a very nice restaurant in a great, convenient location on the first floor of the Four Seasons (right off 101) in East Palo Alto. The setting is open and pretty, the food and service were great. I'd love to go back to try it for drinks and dinner.
Los Gatos Coffee Roasting
I love the smell inside Los Gatos Coffee Roasting -- the really rich aroma of great coffee being brewed and served. They know their coffee and how to make a great drink with just the right amount of foam, perfectly steamed.
Southern Kitchen
If you can, try to go during the week so you can skip the long lines. The breakfast is definitely worth it -- very generous portions of all the favorites, plus some fancier choices in terms of omlettes and other specialties. Fast, but nice service and a great location in Los Gatos. I'm planning my next visit already.
Gelato Classico
The perfect place to get a spot of dessert after dinner in downtown Palo Alto. Taking a walk over there justifies the yummy gelato you then get to consume. Their small size cup is just the perfect amount to have for a great treat that won't leave you feeling guilty. There are so many flavors to choose from -- the Creme Brule I had was divine. The store is small, so gets crowded quickly, but the service was fast and friendly, as we had our gelato quickly and could enjoy a nice stroll while eating our dessert.

Town
Several friends have recommended Town and I met a friend for lunch there are really enjoyed it. It's a pleasantly upscale restaurant with nice, comfortable booths, good atmosphere, friendly service and good food. They have a lunch special that gives you both an appetizer and entree option selected from their most popular items. I had the Cobb salad and Mushroom Bisque -- both were very good and served in generous portions (even at the lunch special price). My friend also ordered their garlic bread -- which was definitely a treat and worth trying. The bar looked like a fun place to hang out after work, and I'm looking forward to trying it for drinks and dinner sometime soon.
Donut Delite
A nice little donut and bakery shop on Laurel -- fast and friendly service and a great selection of all the classic donut favorites as well as some very pretty and yummy pastries and slices of cake.
