My family has been going to Shepherd Hills for a few years now. Dr. Velarde is a very nice man. He's great with my children. He really talks to them to try to find out if their problems are physical or emotional. Sometimes it's not very clear. He has helped one son through a medical condition and has helped me pinpoint exactly what a particular problem was.
I would recommend this practice, especially if you want to stay away from larger, impersonal practices.
PROS: Small and personalized
I have had to have 2 mammograms over the past 4 years. As you can imagine, it was very nerve-wracking. Both times they were so caring and made sure that I understood what was happening every step of the way.
While in the secondary waiting room I witnessed an older woman who was extremely fearful. She was almost in tears. Someone who worked there came out and sat with her and comforted her. If it had been my mother or grandmother I would have been extremely thankful for the the care and respect they showed towards this woman. It's not a fun thing to do, but is necessary. I'm glad we have this center available in the Lehigh Valley.
I had my wedding ring designed by Charles Paul. It had to be fairly simple to match my engagement ring, but he really heard what I had to say and I'm very happy with the results.
I wish I could afford his jewelry more often. I don't like the typical things and his designs are clever and classic at the same time. Maybe once my children are all grown up I can purchase more jewelry - and I'd head straight over to Charles Paul.
I'm the first to admit I hate working out. I have to be paying a membership so I guilt myself into going. I have to say that Curves really fulfills my needs.
Now, you really only get out of it what you put into it. You can go and spend 30 mins chatting and having fun, or you can go and really work out hard. There's no way you can talk when you are giving your all on the machines. It's a really good workout. But, some prefer to socialize and get a moderate workout.
This particular Curves is wonderful. They don't have many of the "games" that some other Curves have to make it more fun, but the women who work there are nice and make you feel comfortable. I haven't had any bad experiences here. There's no pressure put on you at this Curves, so you really have to be motivated to actually show up and work hard. I like it that way, though.
I hated dentists since I was little. They were always mean and scary. When we moved to Upper Macungie I asked a friend for a recommendation for my children and she recommended Dr. Joseph Rossowski. About 8 years later my whole family continues to go to Dr. Rossowski and I don't hesitate to recommend him to my friends.
His hygenists are very good also, and very personable. My children have had a lot of teeth extracted due to orthodontic work and Dr. R handled these situations with a firm but caring hand. He recently took on another dentist who works on Mondays. Our experience with her wasn't the best so we are always careful to request Dr. R. now. It might have just been an off day for her, but we don't want to give up Dr. Rossowski, not yet.
PROS: Very friendly, understanding dentist.
When my husband and I first started dating he suggested I take my first dog to Wrights.
Several dogs and 15 years later we are still trusting Wright with our much beloved dogs. We live clear on the other side of town now and we still take the time to drive to Wright because we wouldn't want to trust dogs to anyone else. We almost always see Dr. H. Ortiz. He treats our dogs with a lot of care and tenderness. He has seen us through some difficult times and offered much needed advice. Our dogs are on the older side now so their medical needs are increasing. We will always take our little guys to Wright.
I have gone to College Heights for the past 8 years. I have never waited more than 10 - 15 minutes for my appointments - if even that. Granted, I've never gone through a pregnancy with them, only regular exams.
I had medical issues a couple years ago and they were very responsive and communicative with my fears and treatments. I see Dr. Geosits normally. I highly recommend him.
The communication with the office and nurses is excellent. I have never had any negative issues with this practice.
You don't have to look further. Dr. Vasily is the best doctor I spoke to about my "several" issues. He has a depth of understanding and knowledge that is hard to comprehend. He is very giving and thoughtful and never makes you feel like you are just one of hundreds, which, in reality, you are.
He has helped me fix issues that have bothered me since puberty. I cannot emphasis enough how much Dr. Vasily has helped me change my life.
CONS: Can be cost prohibitive
It seems to me that beauty salons are getting fancier and fancier. Then you pay an arm and a leg for services received. If you want a really good haircut, color and style and you don't need chandeliers, designer coffee, or marble floors, opt for Ru Vane. The friendly, comfortable atmosphere is one of the things that keeps me going back there. I highly recommend them.
St. Joseph the Worker Parish is blessed with a wonderful school. The facilities are modern, clean and comfortable. They offer a challenging academic program. Most importantly, however, the environment is caring and nurturing.
My children love their teachers and have made great friends. The parents are very involved in the school and they get to know each other pretty well. They look out for all the children when they are on campus. The Priests are also very involved with the students and are always there to offer support and guidance.
Of course, every school has it's cons as well. I can't say I'm completely satisfied with every aspect of their education. I am confident, however, that the school does everything it can within the confines of an educational institution to make sure the student's needs are being met.
