We have had Dr Sunnie Skiles in the Children's Medical Clinic as the pediatrician for our son since he was born. He is now 19 months old. He has had several ear infections, colds, rashes, and 2 bouts with bronchitis. The only problem I ever had was with one of the nurse practitioners who under-diagnosed the second bronchitis attack which caused us to end up at the urgent care clinic where our son was immediately sent to the emergency room for breathing treatment because he was having to work very hard for oxygen. This was very serious to us, but if we had insisted on seeing the Dr instead of NP it probably would not have happened. Dr Skiles tends towards treating everything (not a "wait and see" type) so we end up with a lot of prescriptions, some of which I am not really sure we needed. The office itself is pretty good about fitting in same-day appointments and I have had good experiences with all the staff.
PROS: Prompt service, the doctor is thorough
CONS: Bad experience with one NP
We had our taxes done by Lemas Accountancy this year. This is the first time we had an accountant do our taxes (we usually do TurboTax) but since we purchased a rental home and sold some stock we decided we needed the extra help. We worked with Doug, and really enjoyed the experience. He and Cary Lemas were friendly, professional, and had a very efficient manner of gathering the necessary paperwork. It took much less time than I expected, and our taxes were finished by the next day, packaged neatly into a bound folder. I felt the cost was a bit on the high side ($250), and I am not sure it was really worth it. It was nice having it taken care of with little fuss though.
PROS: Great service, fast
I have been taking my dogs to this clinic for 5 years and have always had a pleasant experience. Their prices are reasonable and it is easy to get an appointment. The staff and doctors are friendly and helpful. I have no complaints!
PROS: Good service, good price
I work near this restaurant and have tried a number of their lunch specials and every time it has been a delight. I have had the chicken tikka, salmon, and vegetable lunch plates and they were flavorful and moderately spicy. They serve generous portions with rice, dal, cucumber salad, and naan that will fill you up and then some. The price is reasonable for a hearty, savory meal -- a real treat every time.
PROS: Consistently delicious
My son has attended Kindercare since he was 6 months old. He is now 19 months old, so I have experience with the infant and toddler rooms. The caregivers are for the most part wonderful, the facility is clean and safe, the outdoor play areas are great. I really appreciate their flexibility in scheduling - my son attends part time and I am able to add and substitute days with no problem most of the time. I love their online tuition payment and the ability to get a receipt anytime for dependent care reimbursement. My son LOVES going to Kindercare and I feel he gets a well-rounded experience there.
PROS: Great care, feel secure sending my son
CONS: Expensive compared to home daycare
Mr Burnsed installed tile in 2 upstairs bathrooms as well as the kitchen and laundry room downstairs for a total of 350 square feet. Overall the results were good and his fee very reasonable, however he is definitely not a perfectionist. There were several places where the tile cuts were unveven in very visible areas, and certainly in all the less-visible areas (behind doors, etc) His assistant in charge of grouting was not good at all - there was grout everywhere (I am still cleaning it off walls, doors, etc) and many places where she missed or did not smooth it properly. The worst issue was that when the job ran over schedule (by one day) he laid a number of edge tiles in mortar and then grouted them the same day before the mortar was dry. Of course some of the mortar oozed up and is visible. Even with all these issues the tile does look good, but I can't recommend him because he is willing to cut corners and also caused a significant amount of damage to our carpet, nicked walls, and dripped mortar and grout all over our cement patios. Most of this is cleanable but more work for us!
PROS: Inexpensive, overall tile looks good
CONS: Messy and some imperfections in tile and grout
I can't say enough good things about Mikuni's. I've been to the Roseville and Elk Grove locations, and both have consistently great sushi in a fun environment. I never liked sushi until I ate at Mikuni's. What sets their sushi apart is the sauces - they are delicious! Look for the (S) after the name of the roll on the menu. The tables are rather close together in the Roseville location, but much more spacious in Elk Grove.
PROS: World Class Sushi
CONS: Can get crowded
We live near this restaurant and regularly order takeout. The food is excellent, we have tried the chicken, pork ribs, tri tip, and hot links -- all are delicious! The sides are also top notch. The one drawback is that it is not a great dining "destination" -- they do have plenty of room to eat inside but the aesthetics are not very good. The food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils and styrofoam drink cups. The tables and chairs are shabby. If they ever remodel this place will be off the charts!
PROS: Terrific food, fast
CONS: Dine-in experience not great
