Funderland
Funderland is a mini amusement park for the young grade schooler or younger. Kids really see to like the old fashioned rides like the carousel or mini rollercoaster. Prices for rides are fairly reasonable. There really isn't much in terms of rides for adults, so just keep that in mind when you go.
Fairyland Children's Ctr
Fairland is located near the Sacramento Zoo, and is a great place to bring the younger set, probably aged 5 and under. They set up the park based on well-known fairytales such as "The Little Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe". It would be a good way to teach or review the fairytales as you walked through allowing the kids to play as well. It is a great place for birthday parties.
Sacramento Zoo
The Sacramento Zoo is a smaller zoo, but very good size for a family with young children. The grounds are well-kept, and the admission fees are very reasonable, especially since there are often coupons available. You can also get a combination coupon for admission to the zoo, funderland, and fairland.
Hilton San Diego Gaslamp Quarter
The Hilton San Diego is located right in the exciting Gaslamp Quarter and is great place to stay if you enjoy walking around to see the shops and popular restaurants nearby. The rooms were in good condition and very clean and well-maintained. Would stay here again.
Adventure Aquarium
The Adventure Aquarium, or formerly known as the New Jersey Aquarium, has undergone a major renovation and it is dramatic. It is now larger in scope and scale. It is a great place to bring the kids. They will love to observe all the underwater sea creatures, and even the hippopotamus. It is well worth it to purchase the family pass, especially if you live in the area.
Mutter Museum
The Mutter Museum has got to be one of the weirdest museums that I've ever visited. There are lots of displays on various medical mishaps and anomalies. It is definately interesting and a good discussion starter if you're on a date. It is worth a visit I've you've never been there. It is located downtown, so parking may be a bit of a challenge though.
Halcyon Days Salon & Spa @ The Bellevue
Located in the basement of a downtown shopping mall, Pierre and Carlo is a pleasant surprise. They are a full service spa offering hair salon, nail, waxing, facials...They do an excellent job with haircuts in general. They also do a great job with brows. Prices are a bit high, but worth it.
ACME Markets
Acme Market in Springfield is a well-organized and clean supermarket. They have a good selection of foods, including specialty foods and organic foods. They have a great bakery, especially for birthday cakes. For the most part, I receive good customer service whenever I shop there.
University Thriftway
The University Thriftway was opened not too long ago, so it still remains clean and organized. The produce looks fresh and prices are a bit cheaper than Fresh Grocer. I definately prefer shopping here over Grays Ferry since this location is cleaner and more organized. They have a good selection of hot prepared foods at a reasonable price.
The Fresh Grocer Of Walnut
Located near Penn Campus, Fresh Grocer is definately one of the cleaner and nicer grocery stores around. They carry a good selection of gourmet foods and organic foods. They also have some good deals on hot foods like their rotisserie chicken meal or turkey breast meal-very affordable for a student. You can park in the parking garage easily.
