Coto de Caza, CA
This place combines a great location, beautiful ambiance, and fantastic food. It is french but with an appropriate amount of new world creativity. The wine/champagne list is great - try Perrier -Jouet Fleur with your entree - our waiter recommended it and we loved it.
PROS: Food, Interior, Location
This restaurant has been in South City for years and has recently changed ownership. The decor has been updated and the bar has been slightly modernized with flat screen tvs. The food is classic Italian with very little creativity. This is fine by me as I love the classic dishes like linguine a vongole.
The food here is very good - I really like the garlic rolls. I have only had take out and find the take out crew to be extremely over-worked and down right rude if you do not tip. Apparently they feel they are entitled to 15% if you walk in and take the bag of food from them. My advice is to use their drive in spaces and tip accordingly for delivery to your car.
The food is largely seafood and steak and the quality is good. The service is professional and quick. The br is pretty lively at all times but the bar staff get the drinks out fast. Overall price/value and its location its hard to beat.
