Service here is particularly friendly. They will encourage sampling of different flavors and don't rush you even when it is busy. Ice cream is homemade tasting and delicious.
Wentworth offers very good quality ice cream in a variety of interesting flavors. Quite smooth texture and creamy richness bespeak an obviously homemade feeling.
If you buy Entenmann stuff in the supermarket , then you'll like buying the same stuff here for at least half off. Particularly good for when you are more interested in volume than quality, like ball games and picnics serving large groups.
This is in the heart of New Haven's little Italian neighborhood on Wooster Street, famed for its pizzas. Libby's has great very authentic southern Italian pastries. The sfogliatella and canolli are all outstanding.
Stroble is one of the most well-established businesses in town and everybody knows it. They are very busy at lunch time and service can be slow. Cookies look good but are bland and all taste pretty much the same. The cakes are passable. But the pies are their real strength.
Chef Pierre is truly a world class artist whose medium is cholcolate and pastry. His cakes are visually stunning in their color and design. Everything he makes is done to perfection with painstaking detail. In the summer, their home-made ice cream is a treat not to be missed.
This place is hard to find but worth looking for, you need to go downstairs to below road-level in the back. Their fruit galettes are delectable. Breads are good but not exceptional. Try the dirt bombs, they are nutmeg infused donut holes --- delish.
The baked stuff is good, not great, but the place is conveniently located in the heart of New Milford right on the green, very quaint. Soups are usually pretty decent.
The smells from this bakery literally pull you in the door. There's not much of a store front, it's basically a counter with oven racks in an expansive back area where production is happening. The whole grain breads are great as are the different kinds of foccacia.
A quaint little toy shop right in downtown Ashland, this store carries a variety of stuffed animals and interesting toys and games for small children. The people are pleasant to deal with and my kids love to browse here.
