This shop is located right in downtown Newburyport, and has some of the cutest things I've ever seen. From gifts to household items, they have quite an eclectic variety. Definitely worth a visit!
Woo-hoo! As a huge Crate and Barrel fan, I am very hapy to live so close to this outlet. Part of the Kittery Outlets of bargain shopping fame, the Crate and Barrel Outlet is my favorite place. Recently relocated to a bigger space, the outlet has just about everything you'll find in the catalogue (ok, maybe last month's catalogue) at really great prices. It's almost too much for me- I now have too many glasses to fit in my cupboard. They also have a huge section devoted to furniture, with some great deals on sofas, bureaus, etc. The only hitch is you have to buy it then- no layaway, no holds, nothing. But either way, I am proof that no matter how meager your paycheck, this outlet can still help your home look great!
The Paper Patch is one of my favorite stops. They carry more than your usual assortment of Hallmark cards. Their stock has everything from cards featuring local artists and photographers to beautiful wrapping paper and stationary. I believe you can also order custom stationary in invitations. A unique place to shop next time you're in Portsmouth
Celtic Crossing is a wonderful shop to be in, even if you're broke. Just walking in and breathing the air reminds me of my trip to Ireland. They offer a wide selection of Irish goods, from beautiful sweaters and Celtic jewelry to Irish chocolate bars and Guinness signs. I can always find something I absolutely need (or at leats desperately want) in this wonderful store!
As at all Olive Gardens, the food here is very good, the appetizers tasty, the drinks very good. But, the problem is you need to wait 45 minutes or more to even get a table. With a "no reservations" policy, the pros of dining here are often outweighed by the cons o waiting an hour to be seated. Best advice- plan ahead, and bring a snack.
PROS: Great Food- best alfredo i've had in a while, and mmmm breadsticks!
CONS: Crazy long wait- can we get more tables, faster eaters, something?
I have been a customer of Great Bay Kennel's for more than 10 years. Through 2 dogs and ten cats, Great Bay has always provided comfort and fun for my pets when my family is away. The dog kennels are roomy, with out-door portions for sunning and fresh air. You can bring your own pet bed and toys, or the kennel will provide some coziness for you. There are several areas for socializing with other dogs, whether it's romping through wading pools or zooming around the giant doggie daycare enclosure. My current dog heads straight for the kennel door when we enter the lobby, and stares at it, tail wagging expectantly. I'm lucky if I get a backwards glance as she prances off to her weekend at the "spa." The staff is wonderful, and very dedicated to the animals. They offer plenty of cuddling to the nervous dogs, exercise to the hyper ones, and everything else you could think of. And for the final touch, their groomers work wonders on even the most mud-loving dog. Their cat condos are something special. Each cat (or family of cats, as in my case) gets a three-story condo all to itself. The cat room has a giant fishtank and even a cage of parakeets to keep them entertained. Each condo also has a window so they can watch the world go by. The kennel stocks several kinds of pet food, so your pets don't need to change their diet, but the staff is also very good about following special diets and medications. I have tried a few other kennels over the years, but I was always uncomfortable. One place put my dog in stackable crates, another charged extra for group play time, more walks, even giving medication! Great Bay has never given me any worries, and my pets always a visit (as much as cats can enjoy visiting anywhere...). I recommend Great Bay Kennel completely!
PROS: Everything your pet could want and dream of
CONS: Slightly pricier than other kennels, but a bargain for what they offer
Being a seasoned visitor to Great Bay Kennels, I've been taking my pets to Great Bay Animal Hospital since it opened across the driveway. Dr McKiernan and his staff (and new vets now, too!) are always warm and friendly, and extremely professional. Dr McKiernan is always very upfront about my pets' conditions, letting me know what is needed, what the options are, and what the costs will be. He is wonderful with pets, and even my dog, who hates strangers, men and most of all vet clinics, is at ease with him. His staff is always friendly, and remember my dog, her feline "siblings" and even her goofy, Germn Shepard mix boyfriend. I feel 100 % comfortable with Great Bay Animal Hospital, and even though I have now moved 45 minutes away, I still remain a faithful customer.
The pharmacists here are always friendly and helpful no matter what's happening. They've helped me with co-payment and insurance questions. They also called around to find a prescription they were not stocked with. I always know a trip to Brooks will be pleasant and efficient.
