Schickenberg Nursery has the best selelction of the highest quality topiaries. The topiaries range from small and whimsical to large than life sized people and animals. The prices are reasonable.

Half Moon Bay, CA Garden Centers & Nurseries 05/14/06: 'Great Nursery'

Half Moon bay Nursery is a great nursery right on highway 92. Their products are all of high qualtiy and the selection is superb. The staff is very helpful. Definitely worth the drive.

Fabbri Statuary

Half Moon Bay, CA Garden Centers & Nurseries 05/14/06: 'Great selection'

Fabbri Statuary is on Highway 92 just before you get to Highway 1. They have a great selection of statues, planter, benches, etc. all made out of different colors of cement. They also have catalogs that you can look through. The big drawback is that the staff is not very helpful.

Did you forget to bring something for your day trip or want to buy a quick snack or drink to take to the beach? This is the perfect place to run in and buy those items. It seems we always need to get atleast one thing for someone on each day trip to Carmel.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Monterey, CA Book Stores 05/14/06: 'Incredible aquarium'

Monterey bay Aquarium is a wonderful place to take the entire family. Everyone loves to watch the sea otters frolicking in teh huge two story tank. The kelp tank is an amazing tank to see the sea life of the Monterey Bay. An added benefit..schools are able to take field trips. The High School field trip was a behind the scenes interactive tour where they actually learned about the sea life.

Redwood City, CA Grocery Stores 05/14/06: 'Great market'

Mollie Stones has a great selection of meat, produce, desserts, jewish foods, and natural health care products. Another plus if you have young children is they have an animated display of talking fruits and vegetables that the kids want to watch over and over. They also have kid sized grocery carts.

Concepts is a beautiful store filled with contemporary glass pieces of art. The colors of the glass pieces are beautiful. Unfortunately, the prices are extremely high but these are pieces of art.

Carmel Drug Store is a small drug store right on Ocean Avenue. It is perfect for those small things you need on your one day excursions to Carmel, such as kleenex, lip balm, reading glasses, medicine, etc.

Carmel By The Sea, CA Motels - Carmel By The Sea, CA Hotels - Carmel By The Sea, CA Beauty Products 05/14/06: 'Quaint Hotel in Carmel that allows dogs'

Cypress Inn is a quaint hotel in Carmel that allows (o.k. they cater to) dogs. Surprisingly, the rooms do not smell like dog. The dogs do need to be on leashes but they get a ahppy hour, too. The hotel is owned by Doris Day.

Diggety Dog offers a large supply of treats and supplies for your best friend. Needeless to say, dogs are welcome inside this store and are treated like royalty. They have everything from collars and bedding to toys and treats.
