I was very impressed with the one-on-one training and personalization offered at Optimal Fitness. I highly recommend the boxing classes offered there. The first hour is concentrated on plyometrics and the last half hour is punching a bag.
PROS: Great personal trainers, awesome workouts
Fabulous Nails is a great place to get your nails done. I have silk wrap nails and they look very real. I also like that they do not use the drill, they file your nails with file in hand - very safe and prevents infection with those dangerous drills that tend to cut the skin. It's a very clean place and you can drop in for services.
I highly recommend the gym classes that are offered at Powerhouse Gym. The have great boxing classes, conditioning and spinning classes. I also like the people who go to this gym -- they are into their workouts and keep to themselves. It's not a pickup joint.
I am very impressed with Martina's knowledge and discipline with all breeds. She's a no nonsense instructor that specializes in dog aggressiveness or fear. She holds puppy classes as well as intermediate and advanced classes. She also offers a good canine citizen class. My dog, Banner started her class at 10 weeks old. She is now 1 year old and has the manners of a 6 year old. Even though she's still a puppy, she knows all the commands including sign language commands -- all taught by Martina. Best dog trainer in the Bay Area.
I've had very good experiences with Pet Food Express. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They suggested a coat formula to mix in my golden retriever's dry food. She has a shiny, smooth coat and everyone is giving her compliments. They say she is the softest golden they have ever pet. They have great doggie cookies too! I just find that they don't have a vast selection of toys like Petco, but I'll take service over a large product selection.
I dread having to go to Petco, but the selection of products is greater than any other store that's near me. The staff is not very helpful and does not have any knowledge of the products they sell. There are always long lines and the cashiers are very slow.
Vince has photographed two wedding I was in and I am extremely pleased at how attuned he is to finding the perfect picture. He has a lot of knowledge of hot spots to take pictures ie. Half Moon Bay and Edgewood Park in Redwood City. He goes above and beyond when producing on time and within budget. His black and white still pictures are awesome and I highly recommend hiring him. He does brilliant work.
Lynda came highly recommended from a top notch MFT in SF. I needed someone on the Peninsula and was extremely happy with her. She's professional and offers suggestions and advice when asked. She gives homework so you can practice what you've learned in the office and report back to her.
I go to Sats when I have last minute flower purchases. They seem to be very pricey with not a lot of selection with fresh cut flowers. I do like their long stem and short stem roses -- they are really nice and fresh.
Patrick is a genius when it comes to creating unique and brilliant flower bouquets. He has not let me down yet. I've had him help with weddings, funerals - even small orders for birthdays. Everytime I order from him, I have someone coming up to me complimenting the arrangement. His work is magnificent.
PROS: Amazing, unique, creative
CONS: When you that good, you're busy!
