I grew up having my parents taking out family pet to Riverside and I took mine here for many many years. I really don't have anything against this place and I would recommend them to other pet owners that needed a place to go. Although I have switched to another vet for the following reasons.
I was recommended to another place and gave it a try. I ended up permanently making this change and now both of my pets go to the new place. I liked that I could walk in, at Riverside I always had to make an appointment and it wasn't always easy to get in right away. There are a few veteranians at Riverside which is necessary due to their larger clientele. I prefer the one I go to since it's owned and operated by one vet. Each time I went to Riverside I had a different vet look at my dogs. I'm certain that if I wanted to see a particular vet I could but since my issue was always a time factor I got who was available. This is isn't the case where I go now.
The other big factor I changed was price. As we all know we have to pay for all of our pet bills out of pocket which can get expensive. The prices at Riverside were way higher than I knew other people were paying.
Once again, I have nothing bad to say about Riverside, I have never had any complaints. I just moved on for a more personal feeling, lower prices and the ability to get my dog in right away.
My husband and I remodeled our kitchen from floor to ceiling. We wanted a Corian countertop and I bid about 5 local businesses for our countertop needs. K & L came in second, however the first was so booked that they couldn't get to my order for another month or more.
I asked K & L if they would match their competitor and they did. Not only did they come down in price but I received quality service and they provided it in a timely manner. I realize countertops are custom and can take some time to order. I was more than happy with the delivery date I received with K & L. My countertops are gorgeous, the price was right and the service was personal.
I would definately recommend K & L. In fact, it's been about 2 years since my counters were installed and I need to call them to come out to rebuff and shine.
If you are a crafter you will love this store, even if you don't there is something you will be sure to find to buy here. Hobby Lobby sells just about every craft item imaginable that you need for your favorite craft hobby. There are a couple of rows of all types of yarn, beads, wooden items, paints, art supplies, scrapbooking items galore, seasonal crafts, the list is too long.
There is also a section of home goods such as lamps, candles/accessories, decorative pillows, vases, statues, knick knacks, sewing supplies, fabrics.
Look in your Sunday paper and you can find their sale advertisement (normally the back page of the comics) and there is often a 40% coupon for one regular priced item. I shop here weekly and check out the clearance section. I never leave empty handed.
The store is very large in size, the sales are great, the variety and selection is huge. If you need to find a gift and you can't think of anything to buy I'd recommend this store. If your a crafter I'm sure you are already aware of Hobby Lobby.
My only complaint. They are closed on Sundays and the store isn't opened late enough.
I met Dawn at a craft fair in summer 2006. She had an exhibitors booth which had items displayed for sale that she made using the Stampin Up! products that she demonstrates and sells. I already being a Stampin UP! collector, I had to stop in to see her handmade items. I was instantly impressed with the items she had displayed. I took one of her flyers in case I ever wanted to order anything in the future since my current demonstrator lived a couple towns away.
A few days after the show I picked up the flyer and seen that she offered stamp camps in her home. I loved the idea and have never been to one before. I normally order my items at a party that either a friend has or one that I've had myself. I decided to call and reserve a spot for myself and a friend. I've never been to her house before and I knew not a sole there, however I felt like I fit in just fine. Since that night, I've been to several of her stamp camps and enjoyed myself each time.
If you are aware of Stampin UP! products you know they pretty much sell themselves. Most customers use Stampin UP! products for their scrapbooking and card making hobbies. You can also use them for wall decorating, candles, boxes, fabrics, the uses are endless. If you do want to purchase these products you do need to buy them through a Stampin UP! demonstrator such as Dawn.
I give Dawn 5 stars for her advice, knowledge, helpfulness, and enthusiasm. I can't forget to mention her energy. She has enough for all of us. You can tell she loves her job simply through the excitement she spreads when she talks about the product and demonstrates the projects we are about to work on. I highly recommend Dawn for all of your Stampin UP! needs.
You can call her to place an order, go through her website, book a party or simply attend one of her stamp camps. I personally like the camps. Its a way to meet new friends who share your passion of stamping, a place to go to learn new techniques, you can swap ideas, tips and shortcuts, get away for a couple of hours to enjoy your hobby and place an order while you are there.
I've been to a dozen Michael Stores all over and the one in McHenry is one of the smallest I've been in. However, the store is packed with all types of crafts and uses every inch of space to sell product. It's rare that they don't have what I want.
They sell everything from yarn, wooden crafts, cake decorating, scrapbooking and card making, beads, childrens crafts, floral, etc. If you want to learn how to do a particular craft each month Michaels offers classes to help you get started with your new project. Or, if you have children you can have their birthday party there.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is clean and very organized. The next closet Michaels is in Palatine or Algonquin Commons, which is about 40 minutes away.
I only have 4 stars since it was smaller than the others. However it gets a 5 star for having everything I need when I need it.
Why Weight is a doctors office. When you walk in doesn't look anything like you think it would. First of all, it shares part of a graphic arts building. If someone didn't tell me how to exactly find the place I would have passed it over and over. There is a small sign on a metal door on the side of the building with Why Weight on it. Once you go in the office is smaller than small. The receiptionist who is also the nurse in buried behind her desk. There are 2 or 3 chairs in the waiting room and a little area where crafts and used clothing (?) are sold. I thought this was the strangest thing I ever seen when I went there for my first visit.
The office is only open Mon. Wed and Fri. Your first visit must be with the doctor. He will spend a good hour with you to go over your personal plan, BMI, goals, and explain the program to you.
Just so you know the program is a prescription that you take to help decrease your appetite. They will send your visits and meds through your insurance every 6 visits but it is up to you to pay them cash or check every visit. Even if you have a prescription plan, you cannot use it here. They monitor your progress weekly (or bi-weekly depending on your progress) and give you only enough pills for until your next appointment.
I've only seen the doctor the first visit and one other time. The nurse pretty much runs the whole office. She is nurse, doc, receptionist and office manager. She is extremely sweet and is loved by all who go there. Basically after your first visit you go in to get weighed, both your blood pressure and pulse are taken, you need to keep a log of your eating to go over and you talk about your loss/gain. Most folks get a B-12 shot, however you can opt out of that.
Pricing depends on how much meds you need. It can add up fast, especially if your insurance doesn't pay.
I rate the office a 2 star since it's small, cluttered and could use a big makeover. I give the nurse a 5 star because she is there to help and guide you. You don't feel uncomfortable with her, and she has seen it all.
The reality is, this office is here to help you lose weight through meds. That's it. You go, get weighed, talk and leave with more meds. I've been to a few other offices like that around the Chicagoland area. They all run and look the same. So don't expect fancy. However if you are desperate to lose and your mind is set the program will work. After 4-1/2 months I've lost about 48 pounds.
The review you are about to read is actually an updated one from my previous review 8 months ago.
I had been extremely unhappy with my then current dentist's office and was searching for a new dentist and was referred to Dr. Cannizzo. At the time I was under the impression he only practiced orthodontics but I was misled and switched from my prior dentist (who I also reviewed) to Ridgeview Family Dental.
Since my first review, my entire family has now switched either from our prior dentist and my kids pediatric dentist to The Ridgeview office.
I cannot say enough good things about Ridgeview Family Dental. First of all the staff is super friendly, each and every employee there is a sweetheart. Dr. Cannizzo and his staff are very professional, knowledgable, patient, understanding, courteous and for those of you that are fearful of the dentist, they provide you with the comfort you need to ease your fears away.
My first visit to this office was an emergency. My gold crown fell out of my mouth. Ridgeview took me right away and I was more than happy with the service and the new crown that they gave me. While I was there, I also have an old bridge that needed to be replaced. Dr. Cannizzo told his staff to take x-rays and to send them to my insurance company with an explanation as to why I needed my bridge replaced. My insurance responded, now I know what is covered, what is out of my pocket and I don't have to worry about it after the fact. In otherwords this dentist is proactive.
On another personal note, my husband who has both beautiful teeth and a gorgeous smile is deathly afraid of the dentist. He only goes when something needs to be yanked. It was like pulling teeth (no pun intended) to finally convince him to give my dentist a try. Needlesstosay, he had some teeth issues that needed to be fixed that were put off due to his fears. After seeing Dr. Cannizzo he was so impressed that he is now a regular patient, his teeth have been taken care of and now he is on the 6-month check-up plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Way to go hubby, I'm so proud of you. But the real thanks goes to Dr. Cannizzo for making him feel comfortable.
Now for my final mini story. I have a 10 year old handicapped son who was just as afraid of the dentist as my husband was. He started to do ok at our pediatric dentist but it was time for braces and we weren't having any luck at the orthodontist we were seeing. I started to explain my sons situation to Dr. Cannizzo when I was there for my own appointment. He told me to bring my little guy in for a consult, that it couldn't hurt just to look. Well, my son has braces now. In fact, I've decided to stop taking my kids to the pediatric dentist and now the entire family sees Dr. Cannizzo.
To sum it all up, I'd recommend everyone to go here, I promise you that you won't be disappointed.
Great office, clean and modern
Lots of parking
Pricing is average (much better than what I used to pay)
Both a family dentist and an orthodontist
Friendly, personable and very knowledgeable
I highly recommend! I also get the feeling this would be a great place to work. You can feel the respect the staff has for their boss. I promise you, you will not be dissappointed.
I will never forget the first time my husband and I went on a date. He totally impressed me and made 4 reservations at 4 different restaurants. Popeyes On Lake Geneva was one of my 4 choices. Yes I was impressed, and I was totally insulted. I'm like come on, Popeyes, what is up with that? Well, I thought it was Popeyes Chicken of course, I had no idea there was a private restaurant with part of the same name. I didn't choose this for our first date, but we did end up going there on one of our next dates. What a nice restaurant. We try to get to Lake Geneva in the summer for a "date night". When we do, we eat at Popeyes and stroll the lake afterwards. The restaurant is nice inside and has a good amount of seating. The menu isn't huge but you can can choose a filling salad, sandwich, burger, surf and turf, crab legs or lobster tails and they specialize in rotisserie chicken. The prices are comparable. Parking can be a pain, especially during those gorgeous summer nights. There is a parking lot nearby or you may have to park on the road. The restaurant is located on the lake and the beach is nearby, people are always coming and going, you may have to drive around but you'll find a spot eventually. I would recommend that you make reservations. It's always packed for lunch and dinner when I've been there and I've always had a reservation myself and still had to wait. This is a family friendly restaurant, so bring the kids. They have a menu just for them for 12 and under.
I have to admit we only come here once every 2 years. Only because one dinner here for us costs the same as 2-3 weeks worth of groceries once we get the bill. Don't panic, I'm sure you can keep your bill lower than ours, but we just can't resist. About 16 years ago, my girlfriends boyfriend took her, my now husband and myself out to eat at Auctioneers Inn for lobster tails. OMG, was I in heaven. My husband and I shared a 2 lb. lobster tail, enjoyed appetizers, salad, drinks and dessert. We had no idea how much it cost, until we went on our own. Their prices aren't high, lobster tails are market price just about anywhere. However, we didn't want to share this time. We each ordered a 2 lb. tail ea. Enough of my story, let me tell you about the place. This restaurant is located in the middle of nowhere. Cornfields surround this place. The place is really small and I've never gone here without a reservation. It's really small, so I highly recommend you call ahead of time. The menu is on what looks like one of those pizza boards that you slide in and out of restaurant pizza ovens. You can choose from lobster, crab legs, filet and a couple other items. Each time we've gone there we also order the ceaser salad. The server will come back with his/her rolling table filled with ingredients and a huge bowl. The salad is made right in front of you and I have to admit I would be happy with that alone it is so yummy. The mixed drinks are incredible. I love their mai tais. I've never been able to duplicate it either. Once dinner comes I usually switch to wine, which there is a nice variety to choose from. Now, if you can leave room for dessert their flaming diablo's are delicious. I have never been disappointed here. When we eat here, we usually celebrate my husband's and my birthday and mother's day all in one since the dates are so close together. Every time we have gone here they have asked us if we were celebrating anything, which we always are. The server then gives us a complimentary bottle of champagne to go. I still have those bottles after all these years. I'm not a champagne drinker, so I have no idea how it tastes. As another bit of info. I live about 1 hour from this restaurant, in Illinois and I've never even heard of this town. I always run into someone that has gone here and raves about the food. It's not fancy, you can dress up or just dress casual. I heard it used to be a stage stop back in the day. I'm not sure if that's true, I wouldn't doubt it. If you get there early you can sit at the bar until your name is called. It's hard to recall but I don't think there are more than 10 no higher than 15 tables there to eat at. It's private, personal, great food, romantic and overall one of my personal favorite restaurants to eat at. The food is always top notch and worth every single penny!
My rating is only based on breakfast since that's all I've ever had here. I give the restaurant 2 stars on appearance. It could be decorated so much nicer and kept cleaner in my opinion. We always sit in the same corner booth every single time and I sware they never clean the framed prints that hang on the wall. I can still see those kids food and greasy finger prints on the glass every time I go there. Plus, on the wall that I always sit across from right next to a booth and table sits boxes and boxes of Heinz Ketchup stacked on top of each other. I would think there is a storeroom that could be kept in. Not to mention, next to the boxes is a small portable table where they keep coffee and other items. If they just moved that out of sight it would look so much more pleasing to the eye.
Now, why did I rate them 4 stars after my above comment. I love their breakfast. I've loved everything I've ever ordered. You get alot of food, it tastes great and the price is reasonable. Some of the best food is in divey restaurants. We took one of my daughters 5 year old friends there after a sleepover and she told her mom and dad to go their for breakfast next time.
The parking lot is huge, the menu offers a huge variety of items for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Maybe one of these days we'll give lunch a try. I do know lots of folks that eat there for dinner and I hear good things. I don't believe they serve liquor or beer if you want a drink with your meal.
If they just spend a little extra money and time in decorating the inside, it could be such a nice diner.
