I like the way that it seems like they always have a sale going on and every time I take an item to be rung up it comes up cheaper than the price tag. When I was buying some pants on sale recently they ran up $10 cheaper than the tag. I actually had the clerk clear and void the sale because I had looked at other colors and went back and got more of the other colors. They have some beautiful bath towels that I have been using for quite a while and love. In the toy department they are one of the few retailers that I can find that still carries Rescue Heroes that my grandson loves. I always like to check their seasonal section as they have some beautiful decorations. They have a large parking lot that can even handle the Christmas crowds.
I have gotten the catalogs for years, but now at Friendly Center we have an actual Coldwater Creek store. It is so nice to be able to try on the actual clothes that you have seen in the catalog. I do love their clothes. They are bright in color and fit really nice and are comfortable. That seems to be their style- beautiful and stylish, but comfortable. I also like the accessories and at Christmas time they actually had decorations. I found a beautiful pair of wooden decorative ice skates that look beautiful on a wreath, but could be displayed anywhere in your home. They are practically the first shop you come to when you turn into the new section of Friendly off of Friendly Avenue.
I love this store whenever I have to have a special outfit for a special occasion. I needed a mother of the bride dress and I had looked at every bridal store around for miles and did not see anything that I liked. I go to Belks and found the perfect dress. I have received so many compliments on that dress. I can find my favorite brand of jeans at this store and they carry more of the colors available in that line of jeans than anywhere else that I have found. I also like the shoe department and the jewelry department. I have several items that I love from both of those departments. And the housewares department is also one of my favorites. There is always plenty of parking because of the mall but it can get crowded at Christmas time.
My daughter claims that I love T. J. Maxx and Marshalls and associate the two together in the same breath. I can find items that I have seen or are for sale right now in department stores like Belks and Macys for such a reduced price. I can't stand to pay full price when I can get something at a discount. They have a department for just about everything. I have gotten kitchen items, clothing for the whole family, baby gifts, and luggage. I think my favorite section is the housewares section because you can find such beautiful but unusual items. I also like the seasonal section especially around Christmas time because their decorations are not what you see everywhere and discounted.
I like the Sage Brush Restaurant because of the relaxed atmosphere. They have a toy train going around a track up near the ceiling of the restaurant. It serpentines around the dining rooms. You also get a bucket of roasted salted peanuts for your table when you enter. Of course the shells are meant to go on the floor! I think the steaks are one of the best around and they have many to choose from. Another favorite of ours is the grilled chicken salad. It is large and you can make two meals out of it. We also like the bread which is a lot like the bread that you get at the Outback. They bring it on a cutting board with butter. There is plenty of parking with easy access off of Arbor Hill and back to Main Street. They do get busy around dinner hour so get there early if you do not want to have to wait.
This is an unusual shop as there are lots of antiques for sale with plants displayed on them. They also have so decorative items for sale. There is a large selection of pots and containers for inside the home for sale inside and then outside are clay type pots. They also have plant feet that I have found no where else and well as a few decorative items to stick inside the top of the pot. I really like the greenhouse in the rear. There is a large selection of different types of ivy some of which have been trained into topiary. They are pricey but I'm sure they had to have a lot of care to get to the point that they are. They provide a lot of plants for the furniture market and you can find some good deals after the market when they need to clear out their inventory a little.
This is quite the garden center. They are a bit pricey but they have quality plants and items that I cannot find at other locations in my area. They do have a plant guarantee on the shrubs and trees. Of all the trees that we have bought from them we have only had one to die and they did replace it with a new one when we produced the receipt of purchase. I like their selection of unusual pots and planters that you do not see everywhere. I love to go at Christmas and see all of their ideas and products. The geraniums in the spring are really nice and big, but pricey. I think in this case you pay for what you get. Same thing at Christmas with the poinsettias. This area is now becoming a village with all sorts of different speciality shops dealing with the home and garden.
This is a good craft supply store. I like the selection of craft kits and kits for children. It is also amazing how many toy kits that they carry. The artist, paint, and canvas selection is large. They also have good sales on seasonal items when the season has passed. As far as seasons go they have great and unusual items for Halloween, Fall and Christmas. It is a great place to get tee shirts and sweatshirts that are plain to be able to decorate. I think the yarn department is large. They do not carry fabric by the yard, but do have some quarters that are for quilting. I need to always spend about an hour just going down every aisle and just looking because they have so much available for sale.
This store is a cut above other craft stores. I find that their products are so much better than places like Michaels. I like the floral department and the selection of planters and plastic plants. The fabric department has a large selection of fabrics on bolts. There is always a lot of decorative accessories for the home that you do not see everywhere that you look for something. They are unique and very nice quality. I always find a good selection of seasonal craft things. Newspaper coupons are available to help with your purchase. Also flyers are usually in the Sunday newspapers. The selection of picture frames is excellent and they will do custom framing in the store. The store is located at the end of a small shopping center with easy access back to Bridford Parkway.
