Whenever I am in Nob Hill I make sure to stop in at the Co-op for a quick snack or a visit to the bakery. The prices are comparable or slightly higher than other natural food stores like Whole Foods and Wild Oats. Unlike those stores the co-op makes a greater effort to stock local growers. They are open daily until 10pm and are located near Carlisle.
This is a great little store to spend time in. In addition to the requisite stationery they also carry wonderfully unique greeting cards and offer invitation and calligraphy service. I first discovered this wonderful store after receiving a beautiful wedding invitation. It's always better to have that hand made touch. They are located near the intersection of Central and Carlisle.
They offer a number of services including massages, waxing, and facial treatments. The staff is very friendly and very good at the services they provide. They often have special deals, I purchased a Mother's Day Pampering and my mom loved it. They are closed Sundays and have slightly complicated hours so call for them. They are located east of Wyoming on the north side of indian school.
They offer good Italian food at expensive prices. The service can be exceptional unless you make the mistake of sitting in the bar as I once did because the wait was too long. Service in the bar was horrible, the food took so long that I could have just waited to be seated in the dining room. I also suggest avoiding the rush hours (7 until almost 9pm). The parking can be hectic on crowded nights. They also serve a great Sunday brunch. They are located near Eubank, next to Wild Oats.
This movie theatre is located off Tramway on Indian School next to Hinkle Family Fun Center. They have recently remodeled and the white walls make the theatre look so much bigger. It does not have stadium style seating, but the seats are very comfortable. It is one of only two Albuquerque theatres that regularly show art movies (the other is Century Downtown). It is a great small local theatre.
Country Dan's does have cheesy commercials with the owner often in a clown wig, but if you overlook that they do have some good buys. It's obviously not Ethan Allen quality, but they do sell serviceable furniture at a good price. The selection isn't very extensive. They are located off of I-25 and S Pan American Freeway, next to the old PetSmart and the the Harley Davidson store.
I often use this local car rental place when I take a road trip out of town. That way I spare my car the extra wear and tear. This rental company offers great rates, especially weekend rates. They also offer pickup and drop off service. They are located between Wyoming and Eubank and are closed Sunday.
It is located in the Far NE Heights off the intersection of Wyoming and Academy in the same shopping center as Whole Foods and Borders. Parking is plentiful, just nor directly in front of the store. They carry specialty culinary equipment in addition to every day necessities. The staff is extremely helpful, and if they don't have it they will direct you to where it can be found.
Grandma Moses Kountry Store is located on the far west side between Pueblo Solano and Roehl. They are open Monday through Saturday 9 to 6pm. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Have an ailment, they can recommend a supplement. They also have a great reference book section. They also offer online ordering at MosesHealth.com
They are located right on the corner of Juan Tabo and Montgomery in the same strip mall as Page One Books near ElDorado High School. Parking is adequate. Appointments are encouraged because sometimes the wait can be very long. The stylists are friendly and skilled and are skilled in many different hair types.
