University Village Shopping

Seattle, WA Marketing Agencies - Seattle, WA Shopping Centers & Malls 06/29/06: 'My favorite shopping center'

The stores at University Village are awesome. I love Land of Nod for great kids gifts, Crate and Barrel for home goodies, there is a Ben & Jerry's and a great Anthropologie. I love walking outdoors, and this mall has super independent stores to compliment the usual chain stores.

PROS: Variety and Outdoors too!
CONS: Not so swell on a rainy day

Boeing & Eames Imax Theatres

Seattle, WA Movie Theaters 06/29/06: 'Fun!'

This place is as much fun for adults as it is for kids. There are great demonstrations and interactive experiments. They also have great visiting attractions (like butterfly themed educational activities)

PROS: Fun
CONS: None!

Cafe Juanita

Kirkland, WA Italian Restaurants 06/29/06: 'Fabulous Food and Chef'

I received a gift certificate to Cafe Juanita, and read up on the local reviews before attending. The chef- Holly has gotten amazing reviews from food critics for her fresh ingredients and unique dishes. I must say that I was expecting a lot when I arrived. This cafe (more like a fancy restaurant) certainly lived up to my expectations!

PROS: Food, Chef, Atmosphere
CONS: Not in a convinient location

4 Star Rating - Very good

Redmond Brown Bag Cafe

Redmond, WA Restaurants 06/29/06: 'Great food if you can get a seat'

The first time I went, the wait was over an hour so I left. The second time the wait was only 15 minutes or so, and I got to taste some scrumptious and comforting food. I would love to visit again (when I don't have afternoon plans!)

PROS: Food
CONS: The wait

Beach Cafe

Kirkland, WA Restaurants 06/29/06: 'great food and great view'

I have held several work events in their downstairs meeting room, and the food is always amazing. I loved their tomato basil cream soup so much that I went back for dinner a day after the meeting. Alas, they don't have it on their regular menu! Great for dinner, business functions or whatever you like!

PROS: Food and View
CONS: Where is my tomato soup?

Barking Frog

Woodinville, WA French Restaurants 06/29/06: 'Extravagant Gourmet Food and Wine'

This is an extremely posh fine dining spot that looks and feels a little more comfortable and inviting than many other fancy food places. The food is fantastic, and the wine list is gracious. Definitely call ahead for reservations.

PROS: Special Occasion Dining
CONS: You get what you pay for!

Araya's Vegetarian Place

Seattle, WA Vegetarian Restaurants 06/29/06: 'fabulous food'

Araya has recently moved from its old (and kind of cruddy looking) location, and now the atmosphere and decor suit the delicious food. I always order the spring rolls- they're the best in town- and the spicey noodles.

PROS: Food!
CONS: Not close enough to my home!

3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

The Bead Man

Redmond, WA Art Supplies 06/29/06: 'i think they have closed!'

the couple who owned this store moved to Oregon, but you can still find them online. This was a great place for classes, and has some fairly good prices.

PROS: find them online
CONS: they moved!

Dilettante Chocolate Cafe

Seattle, WA Coffee Shops and Diners 06/29/06: 'wear pants with an elastic waist!'

I visited this cafe one evening after a show and ordered hot chocolate and a chocolate dessert. The hot chocolate is made from real chocolate and is a thick exquisite dessert on its own. The desserts are world class.

PROS: CHOCOLATE
CONS: sometimes a bit of a wait for a table

Phillips Hogue Winery

Renton, WA Liquor Stores 06/29/06: 'Small, but lovely'

Gorgeous wines in a quaint an lovely atmosphere. Not nearly as large as Columbia winery, Hogue had definite charm and the tasting alone is worth the visit!
