My family has been seeing Dr. Colbert for a couple of years now. His staff is excellent and make things very comfortable. I find him to be very honest and he doesn't push procedures that aren't necessary. He and his staff are also great with kids. My now 6 year old started seeing him last year and actually enjoys going to the dentist!
My daughter started taking a preschool age class here last fall when she was 3. With the little ones, they keep the class sizes very small and manageable for the instructors, who are great with the kids. They work on equipment that is specifically built to their size, with a beam set right above the floor as well as very short parallel bars. My daughter has learned so much already about skills and tumbling and she loves it! I can't speak for the older child classes, but at least for the younger kids I would totally recommend it.
This little neighborhood place is one of my newest discoveries in town. They do a bang-up business for lunch but the service is still very quick. At least during the week, they are a lot less busy at dinner. The food is really good - for a kind of hole-in-the-wall place they've got a really extensive menu and a lot of variety. The pizza, pasta, and salads are all very good! Do as the locals do and check it out!
Bar none this is the best place in Springfield for sushi - they have a very nice sushi bar and an extensive menu, for sushi as well as chinese cuisine. They've recently reopened since being closed for a couple of years, and the place looks great. The food is excellent and the staff is very friendly.
We have been taking our cars to Wilkerson's for quite a few years now. I can completely trust them to fix the car, not create any new problems, and be honest with me about what's going on. Costs for services are very reasonable, and it's generally pretty easy to get the car in if it's an emergency. Great staff!
My family enjoys eating here - the food is great, they have a nice kid's menu, and my husband loves the fact that everywhere he looks there is a television (often with a game on)! The staff is friendly also. We especially like to meet friends there to watch big games.
I've used Sears for my children's pictures for a couple of years now. They seem to take pretty good pictures (or my kids are just really photogenic!) The staff is pretty friendly and just about everyone has been great working with the kids. Sears always has coupons sent in the mail or you can find them in magazines to make it more affordable. But the pictures can be expensive, especially when you buy them per sheet, and the packages are very highly priced for what I consider a convenience-type studio. They also try to upsell you at every opportunity which is annoying.
I called them a few months ago in desperation when our fridge gave out. They have a very small ($15!) service fee for coming to your house to evaluate the problem. And if I remember correctly, if they can't fix it, that can be used as a credit toward the purchase of a new appliance at the store. The repair guy was nice and was very quick at finding the problem. With parts and labor, we spent less than $100 to fix the fridge - MUCH cheaper than buying new! And it was fixed in just a few hours. I would highly recommend calling them before you go out and buy a new appliance.
I'm sure almost anyone reading this has been to Lowe's at least once - it's one of the best places in town for home improvement needs. They have a nice selection of quality products. My only complaint is that I hate going there when I know I'll need assistance - it's almost impossible to find anyone to help you, and when you do, half the time they don't work in that department or don't have the knowledge to assist you.
We've gone to Luers for a couple of years now to get my daughter's shoes. They seem to have the best selection of Stride RIte shoes in town. On the downside, prices are a little high, and they never really seem to have sales. They do also have a cute selection of quality childrens games and toys that you wouldn't normally find other places. The service is pretty good, and they don't try to oversell you.
