This is the one place you can actually find the baby items you have researched-lol. We were able to get the car seat we couldn't find anywhere else instock here and a clearance one due to dented box- GREAT deal! Great selection all around.
The clothing is a bit pricey but again, clearance can make for great deals. They have good coupons frequently and a birthday club too that gives $5 every b-day! How fun!:)
We don't shop here :) But my wife found coupons and took my mother here last weekend and didn't have much good to say about it.
The clothes are okay and there are some good clearance sales but other wise is very overpriced. Their coupon was very good--- $15 off $15 but when they showed up with a couple [1 per person] the employees were kind of rude and started declaring everything they found invalid for the coupon deal.
Finally they found a couple items for $14.99 plus had some other clearance items but they wouldn't take the coupon because they were 1 cent shy of $15 in non-sale items [other stuff was on clearance and they were paying for too.] Good grief. They had to buy socks to get the non-sale part of the bill over $15 just to use the coupons.
In the end, not a bad haul for my mom but a stressful experience thanks to inventive rule making employees.
The New Downtown is the prize of the Minneapolis public library system. It is gorgeous, huge and a GREAT place to utilize-----if you want to go downtown for a library every time you go.
The rest of Minneapolis Public Libraries leave much to be desired. The locations are scarce-especially North Side. The ONE opperating one in North Minneapolisis Webber Park and it is so miniscule you will pass it if you blink. Their building old and mostly outdated. The selection--well all of it seems to be downtown now! I really wish someone would put more effort into Minneapolis's actual community libraries.
We usually use the Hennipen County Libraries because they are much better stocked, nicer and more convenient locations for their library buildings.
A favorite place for lunch or dinner- Flexible menu affords both! It's your basic bar & grill or american food type restaurant-- nothing remarkable there. But the food is good. I am partial to the loaded burger and my wife always gets their turkey stomboli and Loves it. Their seasoned fries are unique and great but the best part is their HUGE homemade cheese cake. You cannot eat light here! We are not drinkers so I can't comment on their famed beer flavors but the rest is a good eats kind of place.
With 5 locations this one is definitely the best. A group of the guys went out for the evening here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is modern and trendy, huge seating, fun all around. Great service and employees. The food was hearty and unique- Not just another burger joint!Very classy-a great place to start a night out or for a special evening.
This restaurant is definitely worth five stars. The atmosphere is classy and romantic. Service is attentive but gives you privacy.
The food is absolutley amazing. The Fondu theme is actually not hokey--but delicious. We enjoyed the appetizer, entree and desert special.
Although very pricey it is VERY good. An excellent special occasion treat. Keep your eyes open because there is Buy one get one free entree coupon in the 2007 Entertainment book!
While this sounds a bit hokey --- it is actually a very cool restaurant. The food is excellent, portions huge, atmosphere fun and cozy. Western artifacts and art make it interesting for kids and adults. They also have free on-site hay or sleigh rides and longer excursions at very reasonable prices. A great dining surprise!
Minnesota Harvest has been part of our family tradition since my wife & I were dating in High School. We now bring our children.
They have a huge, beautiful, apple orchard, petting zoo, play area/park, bakery, and family restaurant. A one stop family event. They have wagon rides into the orchard where you can pick your own apples, pumpkins, grapes, you name it. They also have pony rides and horse back riding!
The food at the restaurant is amazing, atmosphere is warmand homey, their bakery goods will make you want the BIG car next time. We especially like the apple cider floats, apple doughnuts, and take your pick of apple pastry ala mode!
Open 7 days a week! Highly Recommend.
This is our favorite local public library. It has been remodled and updated and is just great. It is large and well stocked.
It features huge banks of computers all over in each section that are age appropriate in contents and programs and internet access. There are quiet rooms for meetings or study groups so you do not disturb others in the library. :)
The kids section is great with a huge cartoon scuplture, castle puppet play house with puppets, a dragon bookshelf and computers with educational software.
Cool concept but really picky. Not really worth my time to bring clothing in. They go over everything with a fine tooth comb and seems little rationale behind what they buy and what they reject. Payment is small. Store prices on there sold used stuff is a bit inflated. I'd rather sell [&Buy!]it on ebay.
