The Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview which was formerly in Wilmette is a great family place. Hands-on, dynamic, educationally stimulating for kids and parents. The museum is great for fields trips and birthday parties as well as just hanging out. Whether a regular day, rainy day or snow day your kids will be thankful you took them.
Kids will enjoy a water works room, mock resturant, library, builders cabin to name a few.
Our 5 year old aon had his birthday there and his friends were wowed.
Check out the pretzel shop in the front of the museum where you can not only dine with the family but have pretzel parties for birthdays, etc.
Excellent parking, and gift shop
PROS: Great Place for the Entire Family
California Pizza Kitchen at Old Orchard Shoppingtown used to be a place I would WANT to eat at. However, now much has changed since those days. The quality of food and waitstaff attitudes have greatly declined since I began eating here.
They have hired many new waiters and waitresses that can often be obnoxious and seem to forget about their customers. On several occasions, the waiter has walked past my table several times without asking if we need anything else or if the food is OK.
On a separate occasion, I had an entire glass of Pepsi spilled on me by my waiter who then acted rudely and if nothing had happend. Even the manager did not seem too sympathetic to the spilled pop (which was all over me) and the air conditioner that was blowing on me. They didn't even offer us a new table, requiring us to just get up and move.
The quality and availability of food which was once present is not common anymore and the food options seem to change from waiter to waiter.
I am not sure how much more business I will bring to CPK.
CONS: Was Much Better Before
My younger brother had been fearful of the dentist always before he began going to Dentisty for Kids. This dentist is one of the most kid friendly offices I have seen.
The lobby offers a jungle gym, play bricks and several ride on toys for kids. There are also several flat screen TVs that play the same kid oriented movies that play inside the patient rooms.
The large staff is very friendly and is there to provide the best care possible to all the patients who walk into the office. The dentists or assitants are always sure to explain the procedures that the children are there for and always ask permission before doing work.
Dentistry for Kids is doing an excellent job of maintaining the same quality that Dr. Berman opened the office with - kid friendly to make going to the dentist as easy and fun as possible.
PROS: Very Kid Friendly Office & Staff
CONS: It's STILL the Dentist
My younger brother attended Shining Star Learning Center for two years and enjoyed it a lot. He had a full day of interaction (and friendships) with other children his age, learning and also the chance to play.
The teachers are all nice and try to provide the best environment for the kids that attend. One of the larger downsides of the preschool is that they expect children to do more homework than they are sometimes able to. Also, the homework is often repetitive.
Overall, Shining Star Learning Center is a very good early childhood center to send your younger children to (infants - preschool) because it offers the chance for full day learning and interaction, especially at such a crucial stage for kids.
PROS: Good interaction, Well rounded day full of activities.
CONS: Homework is sometimes too much for younger kids
The service at this Little Caesars Pizza is good, both with deliveries and with pickup orders. The food meets the quality of other Little Caesars locations and fast food pizza restaurants.
They also have recognized customers who order from them frequently by offering them something free with their order, such as a 2L bottle of Coke Classic.
Overall, this Little Caesars locations meets with the expectations of their other chain locations, with quality service and speed in fulfilling orders.
PROS: Good Customer Service, Food Meets Expectations
