Sparetime Hobbies have lots of odds and ends that just might be what you're looking for. This little shop is crowded with shelves of laces, strings, beads, yarn etc. Considering the amount of materials they have, you're better off asking for assistance from the nice sales lady, who also likes a conversation. A craftswoman herself, she gave me helpful advice and sent me along my way with some freebies.
I had hoped for a day of relaxation and even made reservations for this relaxation. It was just unfortunate that this place didn't believe in punctuality. I had a long wait, which tested my patience, before they were ready for me. Aside from that, the massage and facial I had were great. The massage worked out the kinks that I developed from the earlier hiccup. And the facial soothed it.
This costume store holds a pretty large selection of outfits. Since Halloween is especially popular with the NYU college students that live in this area, this place becomes a madhouse when that time of the year rolls along. They have all the accessories to complete your fantasy get-up. All year round, their window display is fantastically freakish. Since they have two entrances and hence two window displays, remember to check both out.
This place is a pretty small laundromat. But they makes up for this by being located in a very convenient spot. You can drop off your laundry or use the coin-deposit washers, and grab a quick bite to eat at the bakery right next door. This bakery has the best freshly baked bread in the area. Then after the quick bite, you can pick up your laundry and your kids at the school (K-12th grade) across the street.
Hyton Accounting has been doing my taxes for years and I have no complaint as of yet. They are efficient and timely in submitting my material. When I have questions, my accountant fully addresses them. And in the end, I get my tax refund and the amount is just as the accountant projected.
This place looked off-putting at first. With its splashes of black and white color scheme, the decor yells Moo! (the call of a cow). Which was ironic since the menu served burgers. But aside from appearances, I can get a decent burger and fries at a reasonable price. If I can only get past the spirit of the dead cow that shimmers and wafts over my table.
This place is extremely popular. The menu and the decor isn't outstanding. But the main attraction is the comfortable atmosphere of this place. You can find friends chit chatting at one table and at another, gents in suit and tie conversing over coffee. If you choose one of their outdoor tables, you'll have a blast at people-watching - one of the favorite pasttimes of New Yorkers.
This place is irresistible. The shop itself is understated elegance with soft warm lighting. Their window display consists of small single serving cakes that look like perfection. And sitting next to these cakes are notecards describing these delectables in mouth-watering detail. And once you enter the place, it's difficult to leave without taking home a carrot cake for breakfast and a mousse cake for dinner dessert.
Wasabi Sushi is only steps away from another sushi restaurant. With relatively similar prices, the competition boils down to the question- who has the better service and, most importantaly, sushi chef. And this place wins, hands down. The staff was attentive and unobtrusive. The food was refreshingly delicious. But the dessert at this restaurant was the deciding factor for me. Their fried ice cream was simply displayed on a chilled square shaped ceramic dish to prolong the life of the ice cream. The contrast of the hot and cold temperatures in your mouth is incredible. So remember to try this dessert on your next visit.
Sushi park boasts a half price offer on all sushi rolls. So, in here, you can satisfy all your cravings for raw food. I visit this place once or twice a week because their prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. More importantly, you're not sacrificing taste at such low prices. The next step up in taste would be to have sushi made from fish caught earlier that morning. The only drawback is that the special offer excludes hand-rolled sushi.
