Pediatrix Medical Group
This group of physicians provides care to NICUs in the area. During a long NICU stay for my newborn, I encountered numerous physicians from the group. All are compassionate and knowledgeable. They treat the parent as an important part of the baby's care and are willing to spend plenty of time discussing the child's care with the parent. I am moved to tears when I think back at the conversations I had with these Doctors when things were the most touch and go. They were very honest and did not sugar coat but also were very good at helping me feel at ease and confident that my child would recover.
Pharmacy Compounding Spclsts
This is one of only a few pharmacies that can fill a prescription for a compound. I found this out the hard way when my preemie newborn was given a prescription to fill upon leaving the hospital. Apparently compound prescriptions can also pose a problem for insurance companies as well. They will work with you and give you a very reasonable price if insurance does not cover it. They also fill prescriptions much faster than the hospital pharmacy I also used for compound prescriptions.
The Peanut Gallery
If you work downtown, Peanut Gallery at Pearl is a good option. It is a very secure location with a highly qualified staff. The best part is that, if you work in downtown Dallas, you can walk over or ride Dart Rail and see your kids any time. The worst part is that it is located in the very bottom of a large city office building. As a result, it feels a lot like a basement and the play area is largely concrete.
Plano Sports Ctr
My husband purchases supplies for the softball team he coaches here. When he started, he drove quite some distance because they were the best location for what he needed (personal service, quick delivery, custom uniform shirts). My daughter and I were with him when he picked up the team uniforms. One of the employees handed here a beanie bear. When it was time to go, we told her to give it back. She looked so disappointed that the employee decided to just let her keep it. It isn't every store where employees have the freedom to reward good customers in such a way! The prices are a little higher than the big chains, but you'll get great service here.

This is a very nice upscale resale shop with a large formal and bridal selection. You will definitely save over brand new but you will not get anything truly cheap due to the high quality and stringent selection process. The stringent selection process also makes it a little difficult to consign your items, so act fast. They look only for items that are in line new condition, in season, usually from known and more expensive designers and current (sold new in the past two years). You will get a good return on the items they do select, because their prices reflect this careful selection process. This is a great place to take that prom or bridesmaids gown you know you won't wear again, or even your wedding dress if you are not the sentimental type who wants to hang on to it.
Fitzgerald Karen - Kleiman Lawrence Basking
Attorney Karen Fitzgerald is an ethical and honest practitioner. While a consultation with her is not free, she will spend a great deal of time with you consulting over the phone at no charge. She gives an honest opinion over whether or not you need the services of an attorney rather than just demanding that you come in and pay her fee as many others do.
Springtree Cleaners
My husband misses this great family-run dry cleaners. He went there for years before he married me and moved too far away to use their services. They are very friendly, affordably priced and they return their customer's loyalty (they'll pick up and deliver for their best customers). My husband also says they do the best job of any place he has visited. He takes an average of 30 pieces in a month, so he should know! If you live nearby and want a place you can trust, definitely give Springtree a try.
Gershwins Restaurant Limited
Gershwins seems to be a well-guarded secret. I don't see it advertised and no one I know seems to have heard of it. It gets crowded just the same, so I recommend a reservation. It is a wonderfully romantic spot, a bit expensive, but delightful. The portions are large, especially for dessert, so you can share. I recommend it for dinner, but even more so for a romantic drink and dessert.
Casa Linda Foot Care
I had a recurring problem with an ingrown toenail. I went to multiple doctors, including one billed as one of the best in Dallas. Still, the problem kept coming back. Finally, I went here. Finally, my problem was solved! The Doctor is strict and I followed his instructions carefully as advised. Recovery was a breeze and I have not had a recurrence for two years! You can definitely trust your feet to Casa Linda Foot Care!
American Furniture
This is a very small store. Essentially, you order from catalogs rather than from off the floor. So, you cannot see what you are going to get. If you are familiar with the brand or item, it is a great place to shop. Or, if you are willing to take a chance to get a bargain, it is worth going by. The prices are negotiable and reasonable - as good or better as other places we shopped with the same inventory and approach. Delivery charges are low - or you can pick the item up at the store.
