The first time my husband told me about this place it just didn't seem believable, but it is one of the coolest places I've ever been to. The food is a bit on the expensive side, make sure that you go very hungry because it is well worth it. They have a huge salad bar, try a few things but don't fill up. Then the waiters start coming around will all different kinds of meat that they slice off right onto your plate, you don't like something, just pass on it until one comes along that you do like, there are tons of different kinds that you'll just love!
Johnnie's Beef
I have a girlfriend who lives pretty close by to this place and we try to meet up here a couple of times a month. This is their second location and from what I understand not nearly as busy as the other. Their italian beef is the best in the Chicago area, just the right amount of spices with a little bit of kick!!! OOOOhh, making me want some. And for dessert, they have fabulous italian ice, lemonade or banana, gotta try it!
Cubby Bear North
I do not understand what the big deal is about this restaurant. We received a certificate for dinner a couple of months ago and finally went a little while back. The atmosphere, there really isn't one, its like a huge stadium, the decor is nothing to write home about. The food, it's expensive for what you get, there are plenty of other nicer restaurants in the area with good food, don't bother!
Jameson's Charhouse
You have to love a restaurant that offers all kinds of grilled meat. Over the past few years they have been adding more and more fish to their menu and different ways to season it. Love the fish but I come for the steak, one of my favorites is the teriyaki steak or the bbq pork chops. Place is always busy so try to go early, the food is well worth it!
Photo's Hot Dogs
My girls love to eat hot dogs, that will make them happy if nothing else does. The great thing about this place is the large menu that they have to choose from. They specialize in Hot Dogs but they have a whole lot of other things on the menu to tickle your taste-buds with, so everyone can be happy! They always have coupons out so look for them, and the prices are great!
The Continental Restaurant
If you've got a family you know that it's important to scope out the family friendly restaurants, and this is another great one in our neighborhood. They have a big variety of different foods to satisfy even the pickest of eater's, children are always welcome and taken well care of by the staff and the prices will fit anyone's wallet.
94th Aero Squadron Restaurant
Not what its supposed to be. The cool things about it are still cool, decorated in military, aeronautics's, right off the runway of a smaller airport. The food and the service has been disappointing over the past few years. We've taken friends there because they've heard about it and to be honest, it has just been really disappointing. The Sunday brunch would have to be the best choice, but even with that a bit high priced.
Original Granny's Home Of Best
Known for there pancakes, but the breakfast's that they have to offer are great and the price is even better. They have a Ham off the Bone special with the thickest piece of fried ham I have ever had along with eggs, hash browns and either pancakes or toast, yum just thinking about it makes me want to head over there! They are also open for lunch and dinner, dinner time is a bit slower and their specials are good and cheap!
Market Square Restaurant
This is like an old fashioned family style restaurant where every body knows each other. Its been in my neighborhood since before I moved here. It is one of the few places we feel like children are happy accomidated and patrons aren't upset about them being there. The food is very good, they have a lot of daily specials and their soups cannot be beat. One of the other great thing is that some of the desserts are actually made by the owners mother-in-law!
Safelite AutoGlass?
Someone broke into one of our cars while my husband had driven it downtown for work. They smashed in the passenger side window to steal, of all things the factory stereo. We needed to get it fixed as soon as possible and they took us in right away and got everything taken care of quickly. The process went quick and as trouble free as possible.
