Casey Farm
This is a beautiful working organic farm. The owners are extremely nice and smart, and they have a fabulous community supported agriculture program. If you're interested, sign up very early, as spots fill up fast. In addition to the CSA, they have a Saturday farmers market and other programs for kids and families that are open to the public. The food they grow is spectacular!
Richmond Country Club
Contrary to the name, this is a public course. This is the best and most well-kept course that I have for a public course. It's a challenging course, but fun to play. The price is excellent for the quality of course you get to play.
Pinehurst Golf Club
This golf course is in good shape. It is short, but very tight. Leave your driver in your bag. They charge a fair price for this course and have twilight hour specials. Food and drink is available for a reasonable price.
Jamestown Golf Course
This is a good golf course for beginners, but lacks challenges for more intermediate to advanced players. The price is about right for the quality of golf course this is.
Monster Mini Golf
I associate miniature golf with the outdoors, so I was a little skeptical of playing mini golf indoors, but I did have a fun time. It was an inexpensive way to keep us entertained, and you could tell that the people who worked there were having fun too. One person in our group even one a coupon for a free round of golf (because her score was so bad)!
Boston Common Asset Management
If you are interested in Socially responsible investing, you should check out Boston Common Asset Management. I have been very happy with them, and think it is important that my money be invested with companies that operate responsibly. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Hoh Humm Ranch
We had a great time at the Hoh Humm ranch. Lodgings were only $35/night, and we were served the biggest breakfast I had ever seen. It was delicious! The owners are very friendly, and there are animals everywhere. There was even a baby goat hanging out with us during breakfast. It was quite the experience.
Dew Claw Studios
I just started getting into pottery, and went to Dew Claw to get some advice and supplies. I was amazed at how friendly and helpful they were. Even though I am not a potter by any stretch of the imagination, I was treated with respect, and I really appreciate the help they gave me.
Peter Pots Pottery
Peter Pots is tucked away in Kingston, RI. It is a little bit difficult to find, but it is worth finding. The pottery there is really beautiful, and is made in beautiful colors. The prices are decent for handmade pottery, and the store is a lot of fun to browse around.
Rochs Fresh Foods
I like to stop into this place because it is near where I work. It is a relatively small store, but it is a great place to grab a snack or food for lunch. It is a little bit expensive, but it is quite convenient, and their produce always seems fresh to me.
