Midas Auto Service Experts
This is the only auto mechanic I trust in Ballard! Great location on 15Th Avenue, right on the bus line if you have to drop your car off! I have brought my car in there several times and have been very happy with the service and price. There is a whole book of personal letters in the waiting room of people thanking the friendly and dependable staff, pretty impressive! It is a little hard to get in because they are always so packed, but the service is well worth the wait.
PROS: Excellent Service
CONS:
Ballard Camera
Good location in Ballard. Kind of wierd staff, we went in to get our passport pictures taken and had to bring them back due because they were not taken according to Passport photo standards. It was a big inconvenience because we had to go back and forth. However, we have had 35 mm pictures developed and liked how they turned out. I didn't think parking was too bad, since you can run in and out pretty quickly.
PROS: Great variety of camera equipment!
CONS:
Argosy Cruises
The company offers a variety of cruises around the Puget Sound area at a reasonable price. The boats are nice and clean and the staff is very knowledgeable on the areas toured. It is worth the money when you have guests visit or just as a local Seattle-ite. Fun boat ride, worth the money!
The Old Spaghetti Factory
The only thing good about this place is the eclectic decorating. The food is overpriced and not good quality, nothing authentic about this place and definitely not worth the long wait. Strictly a place for tourists!
Sam's Sushi Bar & Grill
Nice Ballard neighborhood sushi bar, nothing too exciting about the place. The fish is fresh but the rolls seem to be too large. The staff has always been nice. It is a good place to dine before you go to the movies. The servers are very educated on the different varieties of fish offered.
Dahlia Lounge Corp
This is one of the best restaurants in Seattle. This is one of the places I take my guests and to treat myself. Tom Douglas keeps the menu interesting and fresh. The interior is uniquely decorated and could be a good place for a business lunch or a good place for a date.
Dahlia Bakery
This cute bakery is centrally located and a great place to bring visitors. They have cute mini cakes and you must try the banana cream and lemon meringue pies. It is a little expensive but well worth it!
top pot
I love this place. It has a funky atmosphere and the donuts are so GOOD! I love the Top Pot in Capitol Hill and have only been the downtown location once. It is a must if you like baked goods!
Gary Manuel Salon
The staff is well trained.... but $80 to trim straight hair..a bit too pricey! Phase 3, located at the back of the salon is where you can get your hair cut by stylists in training and is more affordable. The salon is conveniently located in Belltown and by lots of available parking.
Rei
REI has great stuff and the climbing Pinnacle is a must for visitors. If you are able to get to the top, you will have a great view of downtown Seattle. REI has high quality outdoor gear and excellent customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable in each department. They have great hiking maps!
