Ballard Farmers Market
Great produce at good prices and funky stuff! It's a great way to spend a sunny day outside, mingling with the local Ballardians. Parking was a bit tough because it is so busy, probably worth walking or biking. Another great place to buy local baked goods in Seattle!
Hiram M. Chittenden Locks / Ballard Locks
This is one of the best hidden secrets in Seattle, especially when the salmon are running at the end of the summer. You can see all of the salmon in the in the viewing windows trying to move their way up the ladder. A few times I have seen sea lions waiting for the fish at the bottom of the ladders. I even saw a kingfisher plucking minnows for dinner. The garden on the way in is beautiful and a great place for a picnic!
Mc Cormick's Fish House & Bar
Try the Halibut Cheeks, melts in your mouth. Great happy hour specials on food, have $4 food menu. You can get a huge burger for only $4. After happy hour, the regular menu can get a little pricey but it is worth it. The seafood is so fresh, seems like it is right off the boat from Fisherman's Terminal.
Citywide Pet Clinic
This clinic has been very great to work with. My poor kitty has had many health issues and they have been wonderful. The vets have a great bedside manor and try to make their patients as comfortable as possible. They also sell different varieties of pet food that you can't find elsewhere. The staff is very willing to work around your schedule.
Ballard Market
I love this grocery store. It has a great neighborhood feel, not too big, not too small! They have a great fresh produce and offer plenty of organic options. The beer and wine department has a great variety and the hand-written reviews are helpful. The staff is always willing to help you find what you are looking for and will order certain things if they don't stock it!
Pike Market Medical Clinic
As a case manager, I brought many clients in this clinic to receive free or low cost medical care. The staff is always super nice and willing to work around your schedules. They have a nice office and make you feel very welcome. The doctors give you excellent care and make the patients feel special. They were always missing good reading material in the waiting room. Other than that, no complaints!
