Raymond's Sourdough Bakery Outlet
Raymond's bakes really good local sourdough. You can sometimes get it at the local grocery store, but if you can stop by and pick it up fresh here it's even better. I think it's better than some of the traditional "Francisco" brands you see up in the city.
Heidi Pie Restaurant
Heidi's Pies is a great little coffee shop but their speciality is their pies. They have all sorts of fresh seasonal fruit pies along with your traditional meringues, etc. My personal favorite are any of their "sour cream" pies. They are THE BEST!
Boudin Sourdough Bakery & Cafe
This bakery/cafe located on the second level of Hillsdale Mall is a great place for a snack or lunch. Their salads, soups and sandwiches are excellent. They also have bagels and breads. They usually serve pretty fast so you can get back to your shopping.
Foster City Touchless Car Wash
This gas station/car wash is off the beaten path a little. The price of gas is usually one or two cents more but you never have to wait in line. And the touchless car wash is quick. I'm usually in and out of there for gas and a car wash in 15 minutes.
Ducky's Car Wash
Good place to get a through, clean car wash. They vacuum and do the inside and outside of your windows. They will even spray a special scent of your choice inside when they are done. On a summer day it can get a little crowded. I've never been there for more than 15 minutes!
Endo Automotive
Steve Endo takes great care of my car. I've been taking my cars to Endo Automotive for over 15 years! I trust my car with Steve and have referred many friends to him. His pricing is fair and competitive. I sometimes miss the shuttling the dealerships offer, but I don't mind overall because the tradeoff is worth it.
Precision Tune Auto Care
I usually go to Precision Tune for oil changes. They are faster and cheaper than Jiffy Lube and don't try to sell me on additional services. I used to also get smog inspections here but I'm not sure if they offer that anymore. The convenient location is also a plus.
Michaels Stores
There's always something to buy here. They have great crafts and projects for the kids, giftwrapping, art supplies and offer framing. I always find great stocking stuffers and party favors in their $1 bin near the checkout registers.
Alterations Plus
The woman who owns and runs this store has been around for a long time in Foster City. You either are patient enough to wait for her excellent services or you aren't. She tends to promise items will be done in a few days but it's closer to a few weeks. She's a very good tailor and her work is excellent.
Serendipity School
I was very impressed with Serendipity. They have a nice, large facility, the teachers were adored by the children during my visit. They have language programs as well. The only reason I didn't send my daughter here was beacause it was too far of a commute for me everyday.
