Papillon Baby Store
This place is great for finding cool items for kids - they have some very cool retro bibs and tshirts that are perfect for baby showers. Carries some kids furniture as well.
Bettina Duncan At Fred Segal
It's Fred Segal so yes it's expensive but you can occasionally find a steal here (come in Sept for the amazing Fred Segal sale). Always reliable for cute jewelry (necklaces and earrings mostly) that are fun and trendy.
Flair Cleaners
Flair (a small chain in LA) has always been reliable for dry cleaning. They seem to be pricey (their locations are all in the fancy parts of LA) but they're effective.
Pear Dbera Dr
Dr. Pear is a very accessible, friendly chiropractor. Sessions include a 15 minute massage (always very relaxing) and then 30 mintues of adjustments depending on pain. She is easy to talk to and listens very well. Prices are fairly reasonable.
PROS: Small office, easy to reach
CONS:
Pam's Place
If you don't want to make the trek out to Thai Town, just go to Pam's Place in Venice. The food is amazing and all cooked to order so don't try to hurry. I recommend the pineapple fried rice, the spicy beef or any of their myriad specials. This is a great place for a date for people who love Thai food.
PROS: Best Thai food
CONS: Takes a while to get food
Accents Contemporary Jewelry
Accents specializes in silver jewelry (though they have a few gold pieces) with an urban edge. It's very contemporary stuff. Though the store looks small, it has lots of stuff and it's moderately priced.
PROS: Fun pieces
CONS:
Tom Foolery
Tom Foolery always has unique items available. They have a small selection but the jewelry pieces are always very delicate and pretty. Worth a stop.
PROS: Unique pieces
CONS:
David Spriggs-State Farm Insurance
Starving Students came right on time and moved my stuff in what seemed like a flash (as compared to what it would have taken me to do it). They were friendly and very efficient.
PROS: Fast
CONS:
UPS Store
Completely disagree with the reviewer below. I've found the service here to be very good and they definitely do not charge for using a piece of tape or any supplies they have. The service has always been extremely friendly and helpful. It is of course more expensive than the post office (just go next door for that) but I've found that if you just can't wait in that post office line, this is a good substitute. Lots of mailing and packaging supplies available for purchase.
PROS: Good service
CONS: More expensive than post office
Thai Dishes On Wilshire
Thai dishes is good for a quick lunch if you have a hankering for Thai. It's pretty cheap and they've got all of your expected Thai dishes. If you're looking for something unexpected, it's not here. Try Pam's Place in Venice instead.
PROS: Quick, cheap
CONS: Not the best Thai
