Body Bar
Ive given their gift certificates on a couple of occasions and everyone was very satisfied with the spa experience they offered. Body Bar offers a full range of spa and massage services. The body treatments were especially liked by the people I gave gifts to. They also have a fitness center and tanning salon.
South Hills Movers
Weve used South Hills Movers twice for moving throughout Pittsburgh. They also move nationally. All our items were successfully boxed, loaded, and shipped. We didnt have one broken item. All our movers were nice and seemed to care about their work. South Hills Movers has really grown over the years but the people seem the same as always.
The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh
Ive had some older family members treated here. Patient rooms were very clean and the nurses went out of their way to treat older patients with respect. They seemed to really care about their wellbeing and pain level. As a visitor, parking was convenient and I was treated well by staff and doctors.
Scmh Employee Fcu
This is a good suburban hospital good for patients who want the easy access that the suburbs provide. USC Hospital has really grown over the years with an expanding list of doctors. Ive had a couple of friends that stayed here and both were satisfied with their care. The facilities are modern and the patient rooms are clean and well kept. Parking is very easy. Older patients may be used to a city hospital, but in my experience, the care level at USC seems to be the same.
Aquatic Connection
Ive purchased fish here a couple of times and have never had any problems. I was treated very well and the staff really knows their fish. Just viewing the fish here is fun they have a large selection and the fish are easy to view. There are also some non-fish animals like snakes and lizards.
Dormont Public Library
This is a neat little library perfectly situated for those leaving or entering downtown Pittsburgh from the South Hills. The selection of books is good for a small community. I especially like their magazine selection. For those interested, there are seminars on books and other interests offered throughout the week. Parking can be a little cramped but there is often street parking available too.
Allegheny County Law Library
This is a decent law library but it can be a little tough for non-lawyers to navigate. The staff is friendly and will help you if you have questions. It gets really busy during the week with attorneys researching and working. They have a decent amount of info for non-lawyers but you might want to check the Internet first if you have a legal issue.
Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh
This is a world-renowned Childrens Hospital and a great asset to Pittsburgh. Every time Ive been here, care was excellent and the staff did everything to put my mind at ease. They go out of their way to care for your kids and it shows. The facilities and the number of doctors practicing here are exemplary. The city really stands behind the hospital with charities and fund drives. Many people come from out of town for care.
Saint Paul Cathedral Rectory
I think that this is the most beautiful church in Pittsburgh. It looks like a European church with its tall spires and stonework. The inside is beautiful and well kept. It is a great place to have your kids baptized (I was baptized here) or to have a wedding. Weddings seem to take place there all throughout the summer so book early.
Shadyside Hospital
This hospital has always treated me and my family well. Emergency room visits have been attended to promptly and professionally. Ive had a couple of family members there for surgery. Everything was handled well medically and emotionally family members were able to stay with patient right up until surgery. The hospital seems clean too.
