This is not your typical Mexican Restaurant. The menu includes all the normal favorites as well as dishes that I've never seen anywhere else. Everything I've ever had there has been excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The service is great and the interior is bright and festive - this has just been redone so everything is brand new. Every detail is seen to even down to the children's high chairs that are painted in festive colors rather than the usual boring brown - it helps the kids stay put!
PROS: great food, great prices, great service
From the moment you walk in the door at the Tallgrass you feel like a celebrity. It's all about pampering and they know how to do it. The staff is friendly and the beautiful surroundings of the mountain meadows and mountains are stunning. You will pay for all that luxury but this place is definitely worth the splurge. They offer a variety of services - practically anything you could want and of course, the place is spotless.
PROS: Treated like royalty, beautiful surroundings
Genevieve's is a pretty nice salon that offers great services for decent prices. It may not have that ultra plush luxury feel that some salons have but you're not paying through the nose either. I had a massage there that was FANTASTIC and a haircut that I really liked. One thing that I really appreciated was that the cut was charged according to how long it took so I could save money but not having the person do the final styling. The interior is neat and clean and the staff is friendly.
PROS: Good prices, great services
CONS: It's not the Ritz-Carlton
The Little Bear is so much fun and a refreshing change from the normal bar. For a mountain venue they get some pretty big names, but big name or not it's always a good time. It is roomy inside with tons of character. The bathrooms are a bit cramped but you don't go for the bathrooms, right? If it's really packed, they have a cool upper balcony that gives you a good view of the band (and the numerous bras hanging from the ceiling) without being smashed. Finally, the food is pretty good with decent pizza and really good burgers! This place has been a Colorado favorite for years - my grandmother used to party there!!
PROS: Awesome bands, tons of character, pretty good food
CONS: get a designated driver!
You might not expect the best breakfast in Colorado to be in a place that is tucked away in the foothills about 25 miles west of Denver, but there it is! This place serves some of the most delicious and inventive food I?ve ever had. If you are looking for a dull breakfast go elsewhere. The menu options, including several kinds of ?Benedicts? and their famous ?Smashed? breakfasts are varied and delicious. And if you are looking to go all out the daily specials are where the fun is really at. Items like French Toast stuffed with Grand Marnier cheesecake and Brie and Portabella Omelets make a regular appearance. The interior of the restaurant is small but on all but the coldest days the heated patio is also open. The dcor is charming and makes you feel as if you are dining at somebody else?s lovely home. The service is friendly and fast and the portions are huge!! I know people who travel an hour to go to this little gem and it?s worth it! Come early on the weekends or be prepared to stand in line.
PROS: wonderful food, cute decor, great service, big portions
CONS: you will stand in line on the weekends
VRCC is simply the best in Colorado and probably the whole region. The staff is incredibly caring and professional and the facility is top notch. They specialize in everything that there is to do to small animals and they are conveniently located just south of Denver. My pets have used the Emergency Department and the Internal Medicine (IM) Department and I can?t say enough good things about both areas. The doctors in the IM Department were able to treat my dog and bring him back to health after two other animal hospitals had failed. When I had to bring my dog in on a Sunday after he suddenly collapsed they responded quickly and capably and it was a great comfort to know he was getting the best care. They aren?t the cheapest vets around but you get the best quality care. They also itemize what everything is going to cost before treatment and are willing to discuss other options if you can?t afford their recommendation.
PROS: caring, top quality staff; wonderful facility, great location
