The Sycamore Grille is a great place, especially in the poconos where fine food is hard to find. The quality of the food is excellent and it's in a nicely decorated and casual environment. They make some of the best martini's I ever had. The Sycamore Passion is my favorite. They add nice little touches to their dishes, their signature salad is great. We haven't had a bad meal or service yet. They even have live music on the weekends featuring local, talented artists. They have room for lg parties as well.
PROS: GREAT FOOD & DRINKS
Mollie's is a great place, very good, fresh food and good service. They have a nice mix of standard dishes and usually have some that are a little different too. I've taken a lot of people to Mollie's and they always enjoy their meals as I do mine. The prices are reasonable too.
PROS: Good food & service
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, all of our meals were great. Siamsa is in a old historical bank building and has kept many of the original features including the vault. It is beautifully decorated, particularly upstairs. The downstairs can get a bit smokey, but that's too be expected in a pub. Seems like they get some good musical acts too. It's nice to see a little more variety in a great town.
PROS: Great food & decor.
CONS: None really, a bit smokey in the pub
Saen is a regular haunt for us, we just love it. The food is so fresh, I almost feel like I am eating in someone's house. The staff is always nice. The only downside is it's size, it has very few tables & even after 8pm there can be a wait. But it's worth it when you get the food.
PROS: Great food & staff
CONS: Size, wait time for a table
Everybody's Cafe is truly everybody's cafe, there is something for everyone. We've had many meals here & have taken many guests there. It's the perfect place for a vegetarian, carnivore or omnivore. It's set in an old house on the main street in Stroudsburg, beautifully decorated, with a young upbeat staff. Some of the locals wines aren't the best, but there are plenty of other good selections. Desserts totally rock!!
PROS: Nice staff, amazing food selections
We frequent SC quite a bit & it's always busy. I wouldn't say this is a gourmet restaurant, but they have a fresh salad bar, decent food & wines and a nice staff. We've never had bad service in over a dozen visits. There's something for everyone.
PROS: Nice staff, decent, fresh food
CONS: none that I know of
Big mistake! We drive by this place all the time & thought we'd stop in to support a local business. Within a minute of sitting at a Hibachi table, I saw how filthy this place was. The carpet in the cooking area was caked with food & was just filthy. There are barely any cars there & I wonder how they even stay in business.
CONS: Filthy, slow service
The service in this place was unbelievably slow. I've waitressed in the past & try to be understanding, but this was the pits. Even when we complained to the Mgmt, it didn't improve & caused more problems. They were somewhat apologetic but things never really worked out. When we finally got the food, like an hour after ordering, it was terrible. We will never go there again.
CONS: Terrible food, service and management
Dr Yu is intelligent, listens to her patients and is compassionate to boot. I've been living in the Poconos for over 2 yrs and dreaded the prospect of finding another Dr. I don't have a lot of faith in Pocono Medical Center. The practice seems to be growing, which seems like a good sign. The practice is even in a well decorated, older house right near Sanofi-Pasteur. You can usually get an appt when you need one and I think they admit people to St Lukes as opposed to PMC.
PROS: Nice staff overall
CONS: Someone there needs a little assistance with her interpersonal skills
I really appreciated the lack of a high pressure sales pitch. The price seems pretty reasonable too, no long contracts either. Everyone I've met who works there is helpful, friendly and respectful. I've been to other places where they practically belittle you into joining & then torture you when you get the personal training sessions, not here. I can't wait until the place is done being renovated, it's going to be even better.
PROS: Great staff & equipment
CONS: Under renovation, but moving along quickly
