It seems like every time we are at Baptist, we end up running into this pharmacy. Sometimes to save a trip to our usual pharmacy and other times just for a forgotten "gift" or a quick snack. Though, this isn't a large store, they are packed with merchandise. There have been occasions when they were stocking that I thought they had too much stuff. We have never left here, without what we went in for....it might not have been exactly what we had wanted, but they had something that would do in a pinch. The staff here has always been friendly and helpful.
We have been very pleased with BC/BS. They have always been prompt in handling our claims. On those rare occasions when there was a question about a claim, they have been prompt and easy to work with to get it resolved. Though we don't always agree with every ruling they pass down, they are a necessary part of helping our family stay healthy. The coverage they provide is excellent, co-pays aren't over the top. Everyone in the office we have dealt with has been professional and courteous.
The Delmar is apparently a landmark that draws a good local crowd. We have stopped in the Delmar on the way to Mobile numerous times over the years. Also, when working in Thomasville it's a place to find a good meal at lunch time. It seems like it has been a "staple" in town for along while. You can't go wrong with the meat and 3 veg. at lunch time. Prices are fair. Easy access off the hwy. with plenty of parking. Nothing fancy in these days and times, but it always draws a crowd at both lunch and dinner. I find it to be a trusted place I know I can get a decent meal at a good price.
Lunch time buffet for under 6 bucks. The food is good quality and there is plenty to choose from. I have always found the food to be hot and freshly cooked. The waitstaff keeps your glass full and has always been friendly. Appears to fill up pretty quick during the lunch rush, so you might prefer to come a little earlier or a little later. There is plenty of parking. The building itself needs some updating, but the food makes it worth overlooking what the facility itself lacks. Not what you find in the big city but for a small town quick Chinese place this one will do!!
I'm sure that everyone has heard of the Jr. League here in Montgomery. They do so much good around the community trying to make a difference. However, I just wanted to say what a great office staff they have. Our family has been going to the Holiday Market they run each year for a good while now. Usually, it's either a family outing or my wife will just go with friends and make it a girls night out. It is a great event, where they bring in vendors from all across the country. From the first one we were at, my wife started buying a certain type of Christmas ornaments from a vendor who turns out to be from Mo. Anyway, with family issues one year we weren't in town during the Market. My bride was a little down that she wasn't able to get her Ornaments, so I thought I would just call the jr. league and see if I could locate the vendor and find out if there was a way to purchase them. When I called the jr. league's office, instead of laughs, they truly went the extra mile, since I didn't know the name of the vendor, only a location on the floor where her booth was set up...I couldn't even tell them exactly what type of ornaments they were.....I could only give them a "man's" description of them (LOL). From that little information and with some obvious work on their part, they figured out what I was talking about..........double checked their floor plan for the event to identify the vendor (from my description of where she was located) and got me the name and a contact number for her. Sure enough, it was the person and via the phone she was able to ship me ornaments that year, in time for Christmas, to a surprised wife! I know the Jr. League is very involved in our community, not only giving of money, but of time.......but kudos to their office staff for taking a little time to help me out when I called their office.
The first time I had ever heard of it was for a field trip for my child's school. I guess we have stopped at this exit on Interstate 65 a dozen times for the "peaches" and I never knew this was right there next to them. When you walk in there is friendly staff waiting to get you started. They start you off explaining the facility, you then watch a short movie and you are on your way through the water course. There are numerous areas that are certainly entertaining, as well as interactive. Three areas that the kids seemed to love, were getting on the cart to drive through a dam, where they learned all the inner workings.......the helicopter ride over the state of Alabama and it's water sources.......and the game show, where you get a chance to show what you know!! There are other areas where you can play games while learning. Overall it was a great experience and the children really seemed to have fun, while learning!! I will certainly go back with my family, when there isn't such a large group and explore it again. Best part is that it is completely FREE!! There are several picnic tables out on the patio for a quiet lunch.
When looking for an attorney, this is the type you hope to run across. The first time I walked into his office and was listening and watching him, I had a good feeling about him. He does have the knowledge needed to help in the area of family law. He also listens to his clients. He provides the needed advice, but also follows the direction dictated by his client. His hourly rate is comparable and fair. His office may not be as swanky as some others you might find in Shreveport, but he is a man of his word and when looking for a lawyer, that is what I find most important!
This is one of the best little shops in the tiny town of Gordo. We have been in numerous times to pickup BALLOONS for birthday parties. They also have some unique gifts that you won't find in the bigger city stores. Plus, the best part are the people that work here, not just Cissy (who is the cat's meow and does hair to a "T"), but the whole staff are always friendly, fun and entertaining. We never fret about getting those last minute things, we know Cissy and her staff will take good care of us!!
Located across the street from the University Club this shop offers a large selection of quality children's apparel. On a recent visit they had a large selection of Halloween and Christmas "smocked" clothing. Plenty of Monogrammed items to choose from, for both boys and girls. Though they have listed store hours, they may not be prompt. There is plenty of parking. Smaller shop with a good variety of items. Expect to pay for the better quality merchandise.
When we are looking to join in the tourist stuff, this is one of our favorite stores. There is plenty of merchandise, whether it's clothing for the beach of a trinket to carry home, you are sure to find it at Alvin's. The nice thing about this store is there are other things to see, the alligators, made on site fudge to die for, glass blower, t-shirt painters, there is something around every corner of this location....of course you can wander through it and not realize you have missed a section completely. They also have a good selection of shells, though it's not as fun as finding a good one on the beach, if you just can't, you can buy one here. Lots of toys and unusual items, basically something for everyone and at a reasonable price, depending on what you are looking for.
