Bike Chicago At 63rd Street Beach
Since spring of 2005, many bike paths especially in the southside of Chicago had been repaired or newly constructed. Many people see this as a plus side of living closer to the lake. I often visit this place when I have to get something for my bike. The people there are very polite. Though the place is a bit too small. I never had any problem to get around here since there are not many people know about this place.
University of Chicago Bookstore
I like this store only because the people who work there. They always want me to feel welcome. I often stop by to get some souvenirs for my relatives during holidays season. The book collection was okay. I rather go online to find books than looking between narrow shelves.
Ruben's Auto Svc
I used to bring my car to this place for service or to have something done for the body of my car. Overtime, I felt like trusting the guy to quote me with the right price of each work I requested. Just as I thought he would give me the best quality of work I later found out that he had been screwing me with bad parts installed on my car. I was very disappointed.
I remember just one week after I brought my car for timing belt change the car was stopped completely in the middle of a highway. It was horrible, because mechanic who helped us told me that it was caused by the timing belt failure. It was like a betrayal to me. After having a long time relationship and trust he compromised all of that for a cheap trick. Save yourself in the long run. Bring your car elsewhere.
Pump
One of my girl friend really wanted a one of a kind shoes for her wedding, we went everywhere in Chicago and she finally got her shoes in this unique shoe store in the middle of Wicker Park. She order the off white silky custom made shoes designed with her own beads and accessories. In addition, the place has many hard to find styles of designer shoes and boots, a paradise for a shoes lovers.
Lester Lampert Inc
If you are in the market of classic and elegant engagement ring for your lady, check this Chicago Jewelry store in the heart of shopping Mecca by Rush and Oak Street. Like many other store in the area that only sell quality merchandise, this store also only sell the high quality jewelry and custom one of a kind design if you prefer to. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, they will walk with you to find the ring that will make your woman feel so special.
Niche Footwear
The store is actually connected with City Soles in bucktown area, because they have the same owner. While the other store are mainly dominated by American products, Niche are more like a European Shoes Store. The price is a bit higher, but they do have sales going on from time to time, that's when you get a really good deal for such a high quality footwear. If you love shoes, you will absolutely love this store.
City Soles
City Soles and Niche are two high end shoe stores in the middle of bucktown neighbourhood, owned by the same person. The stores full of high quality many are hand crafted men and women's footwear. City Soles sells more of American brand shoes like Kenneth Cole and BCBG, along with American hip purses, and colorful and unique jewelry to please a woman's eyes.
Eatzi's Catering
Located in the heart of Lakeview neighbourhood, the place is more like a food store that sell gourmet and artisan bread. The price is of course in the high end but you get to taste a lot of things before you buy them. I like to buy the artisan bread, because they're pretty good, compared to what sold in the chain grocery stores like Dominicks and Jewel. However, I would not buy the food from their counter because they are so over priced and the taste are just average.
Far East Kitchen
The place is owned by a very friendly Chinese lady who does not know how to cook a good chinese food. I really like her as a person, but her food has to change to make me wanna come back there. The food is so americanized, it hardly taste Chinese. I would just go somewhere else if I want to eat real chinese food. I would not recommend this place to anyone who love real chinese cooking, because you will be dissapointed.
St Anna Bakery Inc
The bakery is located in the heard of Chinatown Square also known as the new Chinatown in Chicago. They sell a lot of chinese style bakery along with chinese dumpling, and chinese dried cookies. I like their red bean bread, a round white bread filled with red bean paste inside. As much as I like the bakery, I hate the fact that they sometimes keep the un-sold today's bread for the next day, making them not the fresh one around. If you want to make sure you get the freshest bread, come on Weekend morning, because they expect a lot of customer, they make their bread in the morning. Sometimes, you even get to taste their warm, fresh from the oven bread.
