This is going to be long!I had a similar experience with the previous review. My daughter had Dr. Powell and we were absolutely satisfied with his approach with our daughter and his personality. The office policies were another matter. When my daughter came down with a cold I had to speak to the on call nurse 3 times before I could get my daughter an appointment. Each time we were given different directions. When we saw Dr. Powell on our next visit we informed him of our experience. On that visit we were also informed that we would have to go back for a nurses visit because they were all out of polio shots. Mind you, this visit was scheduled a month in advance. They wouldn't even accommodate us and we had to work around the nurses schedule. On another occasion my daughter came down with a bad cold. After being told to provide "comfort measures" for the second time I finally just demanded an appointment. I was given one with Dr. Wong for the following day. Just my luck I hit traffic. I called the office to let them know I was running a little late. They said if I was 5 minutes late they would have to reschedule me. I arrived 15 minutes late only to read on the sign in sheet that someone was ahead of me. The nurse had the nerve to tell me, "I told you 5 minutes" as I checked in. I asked the mom ahead of me what time her appointment was for and she said it was 30 ago but she too was running late. So here I'm thinking the doctor will see me since she is obviously running late and her last appointment arrived late as well. The nurse came back and took the mom ahead of me and tells me that since I was late the doctor said I would have to reschedule. That was the last straw! I cancelled all my previously scheduled appointments and told them I wanted a copy of her chart because I was not coming back. I guess they wanted to teach me a lesson about being late. This was the first time I was late. I guess they don't care too much about their patients. I took my daughter to urgent care down the street and they saw me right away when they saw how sick my daughter looked. I guess the nurses at Rose City didn't think she looked sick enough to push the issue with Dr. Wong.I belong to a mommy support group in Pasadena and they were telling me early on that it sounded like I needed another doctor's office. One of them is a physician herself and was appalled.
