This would be a pretty good chinese restaurant if they had portions that you did not need a microscope to see. Their dishes are bursting with flavor, but the few times that I have been here, I've never left feeling full. They also have takeout, but it is much more expensive than most other takeout places and with the small portions, it's a really low value for your money. They also don't have pint containers of everything, so you're forced to buy big sizes.
My famly and I used to love coming to this place about 10 years ago. We stopped because we found a place closer to home, but recently we were in the area and stopped by for takeout on the way back to eastern Long Island. I was all ready for my favorite dish, Tau San Sien, but it was so bad. I think that it must have been precooked a few weeks in advance. They also forgot to give us the eggrolls that we ordered and PAID for. When we called them later, they basically told us to shove it. Do not recommend.
THis restaurant has been in Miller Place for as long as I can remember. It is only of the only pizza places that has a full kitchen, so in addition to getting pizza, you can also get lasagne or spagehetti or whatever. You should know that they recently moved across the street to the Shop and Stop shopping center. I'm not wild about the parking over there, but the new location is a lot bigger and a lot nicer. I recommend parking on the side, as far away from Stop and Shop as possible.
I cannot say enough good things about this practice of dentists. They have this office and another office in Patchogue. They are excellent in every way and treat patients well. They only do work when it is absolutely necessary and are very honest and forthcoming. When I had to have my wisdom teeth out, the recommended an oral surgeon who treated me well and even let me stay awake during the procedure. Sometimes appointments are hard to come by, but they are usually very good at fitting people into the schedule.
In a place where there is a pizza restaurant on every corner and in every strip mall, this place falls right in the middle when it comes to quality and taste. Matt's Pizza, though, is kind of a chain because this is not their only location. Their peperoni is pretty spicy, so if you're not into feeling as if your mouth is on fire, I'd go with the cheese. The square slices are also pretty good.
I went with my sister to this place once when she was going to get her hair colored. She had had it done there before, so she wasn't too worried. She looked ok when she left the salon, but as the day progressed the color kind of changed into a rusty, pumpkin orange. By the next day she looked horrible so she went back. They tried to fix it but they only managed to damage her hair further. The owner did not really apologize for what her colorist had done. Needless to say, we won't be back.
CONS: bad colorists
This is a cute local business located near the Miller Place post office next to the park. It is locally owned and operated and the owner is usually there on a daily basis. She will even be your stylist if you request her. They also have a large selection of hair styling products at reasonable prices. They are also located next door to a pizza place that also serves Italian food, so beware that you may have to smell some delicious garlic smells while you are there.
This is the most horrible doctor on the planet and he almost killed me because of his inability to read an xray. He told me that I had pnemonia when in fact I had a serious lung condition that I didn't learn about until a year later when I wasn't getting better from the massive amounts of steriods that he inisisted I take. His office staff is also rude, surly and unprofessional. I would not wish this physician on anyone and I highly encourage anyone thinking of using him to look for better quality care elsewhere.
CONS: Unprofessional and dangerous
Although this places offers every spa service under the sun, I usually come here for manicures and pedicures. The manicurists are really good at getting the right shape of the nails and for some reason, when I get polished here, the paint lasts a pretty long time before it starts to chip.
I also enjoy the general atmosphere and ambience of the store--it is fun, yet at the same time it is also casual and relaxing to be pampered here.
This is a wonderful salon that is located in a part of the city that is very easy to get to. My only complaint is that it took me over a week to get an appointment at the end of August, but I was told that it was because it was close to back to school.
The prices are fair compared to most salons in the city and the stylists are very friendly and chatty. They also give you a drink if you would like one while you wait or get your haircut.
