We tried it for the first time and were VERY unimpressed. We usually eat at Great India Cafe on Ventura in Studio City, but we thought we would give this one a try. We both ordered meat dishes and found the meats to be very inferior quality. "Mystery meat" would be the best way to describe it. Usually we have enough left over to take home for lunch the next day. When the waiter asked us if we wanted anything wrapped up, we said no and he looked offended. The atmosphere was boring. Our waiter was rude. He actually threw the check in the check-jacket back on to our table. I lived in Manhattan and never saw that type of rude behavior there. Don't waste your money or your time. Great India is still far better! I think all of Clay Oven's top-star ratings are submitted by their friends and relatives.
This is a good maintenance team that is very professional and helpful with Subaru cars. They don't push "extra" maintenance when none is needed as do many dealerships.
I went there on a friend's approval. I wasn't impressed. The host was stressed out over his seating chart (on a slow Monday night?) and we were given the unimpressive choice of a two seater table squashed against a divider wall. I asked if we could have a booth, he said no they are reserved. I turned to walk out to leave to go to all the other restaurant choices available to me on the strip and all of a sudden those booths were available to me, hmmm. The food wasn't anything interesting. The service was UNBELIEVABLY SLOOWWWWWW. I don't even want to imagine how much slower it could be if it was actually a busy night. The only interesting part was the decor. I wouldn't go back if it was free. Casa Vega is so much better in atmosphere, food, service, fun.
We had a great time there. It is a little retro-1960's "rat pack" in its decor/lighting, but that sort of ads to its personality. The food is good, but we liked it mainly as a good hangout with friends/laughs. I disagree that it is a "homophob" place, since my waiter was a very likeable "Queen", and wasn't shy about it (or obnoxious either). He was very friendly and made the evening even more relaxed and fun, and he said he liked working there, and had for a long time. The service was great and we love it! If you want to go to a "local" type of hang-out with people you like to have laughs with and relax, this is a good one. Go give it a try, you'll probably like it!
The food and service were good. Dinner for two was about $40.00 and most people were in their 20's -40's, so it was a mix of office outfits, jeans. If you want to go with friends, or on a relaxed date, this was really a good place. Although, I have noticed a change since last fall; they seem more concerned with pushing the drinks and making the money than being as relaxed and welcoming as they once were.
If you don't mind trying to park in a tiny strip mall and then stepping over the many drunks/vagrants who will accost you for money and/or food; only to order indian food that doesn't have any flavor or imagination (they just throw large chunks of chicken in to your dish, not take the time to cut it up so it looks appetizing) in a very cramped setting, then this is the place for you!
CONS: avoid and go elsewhere
We went here based on other insider reviews, and it was WELL WORTH IT! We met with the younger Dr. Sharp and he was terrific. He listened carefully and did a thorough examination on our dog. He explained treatment options very well and his front desk staff were organized and extremely caring toward our pet. We highly recommend Dr. Sharp and his clinic and we will return again! Of note, while we were waiting for our appt. (very reasonable wait time)an emergency case came in, we were so impressed how the staff jumped in to emergency action, but also kept the regular appointments going without missing a beat. I hope we never have that kind of emergency, but I feel better knowing that our new vet and his team could handle it!
PROS: Fantastic, compassionate staff and fair prices!
When we first started going, they seemed really nice, and our dog liked going there. We stopped going because he seemed to come back scratching and he wasn't before we took him in. We even mentioned it, and asked if they could use a different shampoo, they said they would; but he was still scratching.
Dr. Wallach and his staff are terrific. The prices are quite competitive and everyone is very caring toward your pets. The front desk is very efficient and fast, they know what they're doing. We boarded as well and our dog loved going there!
I brought my pets here via referral from our breed club. Dr. Paul Yehle was wonderful, he is very attentive, answers all your questions, and is extremely caring toward the pet. We also boarded our dog there and it was always great, the Sunday pickup time helps a lot! The only downside is they need more front desk staff, a little slow, but worth the wait. Go here, you'll love them!
