If you want, good service, good food, good drinks, good ambiance - this place has it. I've eaten here regularly ( 1 or 2 times a month) for about fifteen years now. I have yet to be dissapointed.
The menu selection is pretty wide. But, I just can't get away from the three or four things I like so much on it, so haven't actually experimented much. They bake their own chips and they taste great. The dip sauce isn't hot - but they will gladly bring the hot green stuff if you ask. I mix it with the red stuff and dip in that, then pour it over the food when it comes.
Located conveniently, just west of Congress Ave. on the north side of Lantana Road. Parking is good. They always greet us at the door and, if fact, nearly always hold the door for us when we arrive.
Most visits I have seen the owner walking around greeting diners and helping out where she is needed. She could easily afford to be elsewhere I'm sure - but her personal attention is one of the things which makes the place so good.
I have noticed the same servers for years now. A good sign for any business is employee longevity.
I don't drink much, but I can say the margaritas are good here.
The restaurant is basically laid out in two sections. To the left as you go in is the "pure" restaurant with tables and booths. To the right there is a large central bar with tables and booths surrounding that. So, if you prefer the restaurant atmosphere, go left, if you prefer the nightclub atmosphere, go right. By the way, the noise level is good here too. You can have a conversation with the rest of your party anyplace in establishment without shouting or cupping your hand over your ear. I like that.
I was given a subscription for three videos in the mail with Blockbuster. The price to me, being zero, was great.
But actually the best part was renting from this location. The Manager, Bobi, waited on me many times. She always offered suggestions in videos and was always quite pleasant to deal with. I heard she is leaving for more money someplace else however. Too bad. That will be Blockbuster's loss. Best wishes to you Bobi.
Anyhow, Blockbuster is the best. If a person rents a lot of videos they would be foolish not to buy the mail-in package deal. It is about $18 a month and is unlimited. You rent three, take them back to the store and get three more free to watch while you wait for the next three on your list to arrive in the mail. Unbeatable. I almost always have movies to watch now.
Someone broke out the side window on my car.
Bob's (of LAKE WORTH not DELRAY BEACH) dispatched someone the next day to replace the window. The new window wasn't even close to fitting properly.
... the installer told me the glass they had installed, wasn't cut properly and couldn't be made to fit my car. They said they ordered new glass and to come back then.
They had told me to come in, but when I did, the glass wasn't there. Nobody had actually ordered it!
The new glass was in but, the installer now said there was a plastic retainer broken and he couldn't fix anything without it. They said they now ordered the retainer.
Question: Was it broken when they put the window in before, and they didnt notice then? When did it break?
I was told they never got the retainer yesterday as promised, they wanted to know if I could come back yet again.
The installer told me, "This is as good as possible for this to fit."
As installer, the new window made a clunking sound about half way down when moving either direction and still wasn't sealing correctly when you raised it.
Later at home, I worked on it myself for 5+ hours. I cut my fingers in four places on the jagged metal edge where someone at Bobs Auto Glass had actually taken tin snips and cut away a portion of the door inside, leaving a razor like jagged edge. The new window is not L.O.F. as allegedly ordered but it is still the cheaper generic brand they tried the first time. It is tinted - they got that right this time.
In summary: It took 12 days to have my window "fixed", and then only after spending 5+ hours tweaking it myself to fix their mistakes. The window is still the wrong brand and probably not cut correctly either.
I must live with it as is for now. Above all else, I will NEVER use the services of Bob's Auto Glass again.
I gave them one-star because the system doesn't allow "zero" stars!
Pros: Their office had electricity!
Cons: Pretty much everything else!
At 50 years old I waited over 45 min in the ER wiith chest pains. Not a peep from anyone there after signing in. Heart attack? Nope. But they never knew that and I simply walked out when the pain subsided. Too many sodas caused the pain (gas).
Pros: Still thinking about this . . .
My wife has returned for various services on her 2003 SAAB and has always had excellant service from this dealership. The vehicle repairs are always done properly and completed on time. The service personel treat us like royalty and are quite knowlagible about repairs and the vehicles themselves.
Pros: Great service and great treatment.
Cons: I'd like them even better if they would give me a free car!!
I've seen Dr. Landman over the years since the late 80s.
He has treated me when I was sick and done my annual physicals as well.
If you want a knowledgible doctor with a perfect "bed side" manner - he is it. He always explained things to me so I left without any doubts as to what was going on.
He and his staff made going to the doctor - almost enjoyable!
A hearty thank you to you, your wife (who works there) and your staff for the years of kind service you have given me.
Just three examples here.
One: They simply forgot to tighten the RR wheel on a Cobra race car. The wheel came off and passed us in a race the next day.
Two: They (again) forgot to tighten a rear wheel on my Astro van. It wobbled so bad I only got about a quarter mile away and stopped. Walked back to get them to fix it.
Three: (Why don't I ever learn?) They flat refused to match a tire price on the exact same tire on which I had a proposal from Sears. They weakly claimed the tire wasn't the same. I am a former tire engineer from Akron. Trust me, it was the exact same tire. TK just lies is all.
These all three were at the Lantana store.
I actually returned. They had a sale - buy three get four.
All new people there now. Front desk person seemed quite knowledgeable - except he told me that the Sonar brand was made in the USA by Cooper which he said was owned by Goodyear. The internet does not confirm this but says Sonars are made in the Orient.
They balanced and installed everything pretty well this time. They did remove the valve caps we had that show if a tire is low and put plastic caps on the valves. I had to go out and find the ones they took off and put them back on myself. Of course, I got told to get out of the service area by one of them.
All in all the place has improved a lot and I'll go back again.
Someone broke out the side window on my car.
Bob's (of LAKE WORTH not DELRAY BEACH) dispatched someone the next day to replace the window.
See the other review. As far as I know the Bob's in Delray is just fine.
After taking my 1994 Corvette to other shops for a shifting problem, I took it to Aaron's.
They immediately knew what was wrong and fixed that.
Later, I got it completely overhauled there, and had a Transgo kit put in along with other heavy duty parts plus a high speed stall converter. Everything was fine, until . . .
I returned to Aaron's after a month or two when third and fourth gears stopped working.
I took the car in early (7:30AM). I waited until 6:20 PM when he closed the garage doors and went home. No phone call as promised.
The next day his employee stated he had to replace third gear. Less than two months after a supposed total rebuild.
No call to me to let me know what was happening; as I walked around for almost 13 hours in town!
The rebuild went bad. The stall converter they installed flew all apart and ruined the entire transmission! I had to pay out for another complete rebuild.
Aaron's went out of business! May as well have given me a lifetime guarantee huh?
They had installed the wrong converter. I never had the overdrive with the one they put in. Was told that it didn't matter. New repair shop said that was the whole trouble. The computer tried to shift into OD all the time and the converter overheated and flew apart. See AAMCO for review of how it is now.
Pros: Seemed Knowledgeable.
Cons: Apparently didn't do everything claimed in rebuild. No communication. Wrong parts installed. Has since gone out of business.
They have been where they are for over 25 years. I had my (then new) 1977 Corvette tinted and my new 2004 Mustang as well. Absolutely no problems with either one. Perfect color, perfect fit.
No purple windows and certainly no air bubbles!
PROS: Great product quality, great installation.
CONS: A tad expensive. But what good service isn't?
